Perfect lock for our gate - and no batteries needed!
Worked great for my needs. Can be used for a gate that hinges inward or outward and in my case our gate was an outward one. Directions were good and it was an easy install once you read through the directions and understand how it works (was my first time doing one of these). And no batteries on an outdoor lock device the is exposed to the elements is a huge bonus in my opinion.

Adult Proof
These are not only child-proof but most adults seem to have difficulty figuring them out as well. Fine with me since I don't want them in my yard anyway. The locks are easy to install and work well. Fortunately, the man that cuts my grass had no difficulty.

Mostly good, relatively easy install, cheap screws and a tad overpriced
There is nothing else like this on the market. Perhaps that affords them the ability to charge a premium. I think $50-60 would be appropriate for the extra large version. And for this price, the screws are cheap. Abandon them and use some real exterior screws with a non-phillips screw head.Last criticism: The dial, even on the larger model, is simply too small and the ability to read the numbers is not easy. There is no contrast between the numbers and the dial.But... it works well and solved my problem for an in-swinging gate door that is not used very often but offered an entry into my yard. Overall, I am happy but could be happier. Wait, that's like life...

This is the best way to secure your backyard and still have 2 way access.
I was worried that this wouldn't work on a outswing gate since the description and pictures don't say. Decided to buy it and try anyways knowing my installation wasn't typical. When opened there's instructions to install for outswing. Installing was a breeze. My wife loved that the backyard is secured for our daughter to play in and I have ability to unlock for access from the outside.

Good product but terrible service
My review is for my purchase/return experience with the company and their support (by the president Don) more than the actual product which once we finally received the right one works well. The lock I received was wrong, it did not have the sliding cover over the numbers on the outside of the gate so if we set the code so we can go in and out while working outside anyone can see it so we have to lock it every single time. It also did not have the plastic cover on the inside which was the issue I noticed first. I was busy when I received it and thought maybe I'd ordered one without the slide cover but knew it was supposed to have the plastic cover on the inside, upon reviewing the listing it should have had both.Anyhow this is the series of events trying to get this resolved with Yardlock support (the president of the company)...Timeline:June '21 - received the lockset and had a carpenter install it. After install I saw there was no plastic cover on the inside of the fence and spoke with him about it. He thought maybe he misplaced it and contacted Yardlock support. He was told they'd send him a new back cover. We waited and waited with nothing. He contacted multiple times and was told it was shipped and should arrive - it never did.September '21 - After waiting months for the parts to arrive and being outside of the Amazon return window I reviewed the listing and realized that it WAS supposed to have the slide cover on the front. I sent a message to their support and got a response from the companies president Don. Don asked for photos which I supplied, clearly the wrong lock in the first place. After a back and forth and providing multiple photos I did not hear from Don again for weeks...October '21 - after sending photos and messaging several times over 3 weeks Don responds back with "How can I help you?" - our entire conversation history was in the thread that he'd not responded to for over 3 weeks. Again no response for another 5 days. Finally Don says on Oct 13th he mailed a new lock a couple of weeks agoDecember '21 - Not having received anything, supposedly shipped from Canada to the US end of September per our email thread, I contacted again and 3 days later having not heard back I contacted once again expressing my frustration since at this point it does not seem like either time a shipment was promised anything was actually shipped. I've received several packages from countries much further than Canada which I ordered since this was supposed to have shipped. Don's response this time was "Parts were mailed to you as promised. Since your installer did such a poor job installing and loosing parts, maybe get him to buy you a new kit." Obviously Don does not really care and hasn't paid attention, the lock was wrong whether the installer lost the inner cover or not. My frustration after 6 months is understandable and his reaction is ridiculous. At this point I said I gave up and would leave a review on Amazon - magically now Don says he's mailing a replacement. I did receive the replacement and it works great, but my overall negative review of the experience and Don's support stands.

Looks good and works - but a number of flaws, and too expensive
Installation is described as a matter of minutes... I don't think so :) Especially the drilling part where you basically need to drill from both sides and try to make the two tunnels meet will take a bit of try and error - it has to be done from both sides if you want to be sure that the holes are where you want/need them to be.The contraption does work, but leaves surprisingly much to be desired. The screws are low quality (very disappointing at this price point) and get used up in no time, leaving little room for try and error. The lock bar is quite short and makes assumptions about both gap size and gate construction. At the very least for the price paid there should be one longer bar, and both of them should have a cross with five holes total so that one can also fasten it vertically if the wood part it gets attached to is very slim like in our case. When closed, the code box leaves a small gap that is still big enough to put in a screw driver and apply some twisting torque to pop it open with force. The weather cover of the code wheels has very slim edges that basically require strong fingernails to move it in either direction.I think the main purpose of this lock is to be functional, it looks good, and it's still a deterrent because burglars don't like to make noise or spend time messing with a lock where they can be seen. But it's not (and cannot be, due to the nature of involved wood) a serious hurdle for criminals.
