Brilliant ending
I rated this book 5* for the plot with it's change of pace and surprising twists and definitely the characters with their characterdevelopments. It was nice to have all the boys grown up to end the series, and it was also a change for them to not be the ones causing trouble but on the receiving end of someone elses game. This book gives a chapter per horseman, which is definitely a change to read but enjoyable none the less. It's also refreshing to read how they've changed as people the more they've grown up, and their priorities have slightly shifted, especially Damon... he's still my absolute favourite.I'd recommend this book and the whole series to anyone not put off by the triggers and those who enjoy darker themed books. The playlists also compliment each book and definitely help set the tone for the books, I've enjoyed each and every book. I just wish there was more!

A great little novella
A great little novella that includes some of the Devils nights children. I am intrigued by Madden, I hope at some stage we see a future series of the children following in their parents footsteps!A little gripe, hence 4 stars not five, there were a couple of spelling mistakes which is unlike Penelope. It might be worth having the Proofreader look again.

love Mads
Loved this story reading about your fave characters and their families adventures is great and all these characters hold a special place in my heart but Damon winter and all their kids more than the rest what can I say I have weak spot for a bad mercurial man xx

Good novella
I enjoyed hearing about Michael, Kai, Damon and Will and their families. All the next Gen. The new tradition of Fire Night was so nice and I'm glad the kids were found safe.

A must read
Penelope is seriously one of my favourite authors. This whole series is incredible. I love it with my whole being and wish I could experience it for the first time again!I love all the characters and their uniqueness. I love how the books are written with the present day and flashing back to their younger selves. It adds more suspense to the books because you don’t have any idea what happened in the past to make the present day as it is until nearly the end of the books. The way the four books link together and each focus on one of the men in the group whilst we still see what is going on with the other three keeps you intrigued to reading more so you can find out more and more about the characters. The spice in the books is amazing also. Some of the best I have read. It made me blush at one stage and it took me about an hour to read one passage because I couldn’t read it, it was that hot!Definitely a worthy read!

I need more!
This was too short! Loved how it carried on their story and showed us their children. I'm hoping how it has ended means there will be more to come from the children but when they are older. I need to see Mads character development into an adult.

Brilliant
You need to read the series in order to really benefit from this story or this review.Oh wow!! What a great novella. I know Penelope had said the children won’t get their own story, even though Mads is crying out for one, but I’m glad they won’t. I’d rather my imagination did the work for Mads and Octavia and the others. There was always a darkness in Kai, so we were told in his story, but I never really felt we saw it. Well, we can see it in this story, personified in his son Mads! That 11 year old scares me!!!!!
