Superb for controlling severe nose bleeds
I recently had a very severe nose bleed and over an hour of nose pinching - by me and a paramedic - failed to stop it. Then the paramedic produced one of these clips and it reduced the flood almost straightaway and stopped it within half an hour. The clip worked brilliantly when I had a second bleed the following day. I was delighted to find the clips for sale on Amazon and bought a box immediately. If you suffer from nose bleeds make sure you have these clips ready to hand.

Poor packaging no instructions
I expected these nose clips to be packaged in some sort of named box with instructions. Instead they were in 5 individual plastic envelopes within the outer box. Looked like they had been packaged in someone’s back room & at virtually £2 each I expected more. IVe not tried them yet but hope they are better quality than they are packaged.

Solves the problems
A series of nosebleeds swiftly taught me that the chief problem with them is that you don't have enough hands to cope. One to pinch your nose, one to staunch the blood – how do you phone for help, find something warm to wear, tidy up a bit? The answer is these wonderful gadgets. In fact they stop the flow so efficiently that you don't even need the hand for the tissues. I have used a clip several times, and I haven't had problems with the ratchets. I have even found that I am getting fewer nosebleeds, but maybe that's just luck.

These clips lack real grip
In my humble opinion these clips lack real grip and have not done the job for me....I would NOT recommend this product to my family or friends

Revised review after use.
2021-04-02 Another purchase, another note.I saved c£50 in 2020 by re-using the clamps, AKA ignoring the instructions.I found that immersing the foam pads in warm vaseline for a few hours resulted in some absorption thereof.Using the treated clamps for their intended purpose greatly reduced their absorption of blood and the tendency of the foam to assume the properties of a brick.I would not be surprised to learn that other sustances have superior properties to that of Vaseline.I used Baby Powder to remove superfluous Vaseline and stop the clamp slipping.HTH.2020-05-13 Original title with ** "No confidence in this device as sold."In 2003 I drove 20 miles to hospital, in the middle of the night, with my latest, most severe, nosebleed "controlled" by a large bulldog clip with the legs curved to spread the load, and some foam rubber."I have not seen that before", said the night doctor. He was interested, in the clamp, not the patient, he thought there was money to be made.I suggested the real device needed a turnbuckle.MYAIDNot tested under emergency conditions. Not trusted to work under emergency conditions. One size fits all? I do not believe it.Pawl slipped over ratchet during my tests, apparently built to a price, not a standard.I achieved more pressure and retention with a rubber band: but not controllable pressure. My opinion is still that a turnbuckle is the solution.2020-06-14 New *** review after actually using the item.Blood pressure 118-71 15 minutes before epistaxis.Anterior blood flow, left nostril only [normal for me] + posterior blood flow.#1 Fitting the device in the location shown in the accompanying leaflet AND the pressure I felt required, seemed mutually exclusive.#2 Controlled pressure modification after installation impossible.#3 Device remained in position but never felt secure.#4 Posterior blood flow stopped c90 minutes after device fitted.#5 .1 Myaid device removed c120 minutes after fitting..2 Minor blood flow from nostril then re-commenced for c10 minutes.I suspect time, rather than the device, solved the issue.#6 If I was designed a clamp for myself now I would stabilise its position by support over the ears and the rear of the skull and the top of the skull and below the chin. I would still use a turnbuckle. This would not be a low cost device. Apologies for the lack of the correct anatomical terminology.#7 I washed my clamp in warm saline solution with 5% Dettol.Air dried, this did not remove all the blood from the foam pads.Device could be re-used.HTH.

Excellent buy.
I used one of these clips for the first time today and they work very well. They apply enough pressure to stop bleeding and are comfortable when using. Always keep one near at hand - kitchen, bedroom, car and handbag.

To big for children.
Ordered these for my daughter who suffers from bleeds, we have found that they fit well and are comfortable for adults but not for children as they are slightly to big which is a shame. Other than that they arrived on time and well packaged.
