Soft? Hard? Just try it and see. Mine was fine.
Now, before i got this product, i had looked at some of the other reviews. They had said that it was either way too soft, or way too hard and dry. Therefore i was a little skeptical about buying it.Finally decided to, since, well, i really did need it. It came in the other day along with a couple other things i had ordered.When i opened it, i found that mine was rather on the soft side- to begin with. Once i got past the first bit of it and to the main... hunk, i guess you could say, it started working just fine. Sure it is a little soft yet, but it applies to the string easily enough, and is easy to work into it.So, all i can say is that if yours comes and is too dry, then just refund and get another one, or try some other brand. Its not like you're getting a piece of jewelry here.

every once in a while you need a little wax
the archery shop said this was the wax to get, I have no complaints I use it on my string and arrow tips to keep them in place.

Perfect for Smooth Crossbow Action
This is the best wax I found so far to keep the crossbow action smooth as silk. The price is perfect, and it lasts a long time.

Can’t go too wrong with any type of wax. This is not for crossbows though! It’s got a handy loop on the lid so you can tie it or clip it to something. I included a photo so you have an idea of how much comes in the container.
