What size are the little squares in the grid panels?

I just built a guinea pig cage with these. I bought the six square set. Each square in the cube is approximately 1.5 inches.

Great product, but you need 30.25 inches of real space to fit the cube’s circular retainers. I had 28.5 inches of real space and bought it on this basis. Luckily I was able to adapt, having bought two stacks to put one above the other. This gave me a couple of spares to cut and adapt to MY space.

How many connectors does it come with

I needed more connectors to get more creative with the cubes. Are these cubes heavy duty enough for using as Bookshelf

Yes, but when they say 15 pounds per cube they mean it. I weighed my books to be sure I only had 15 pounds, and a little bump knocked the shelf loose. I had to take out all the books and snap it together again. This is cheap and pretty, but not heavy duty.
