Great product
Great product. Small and sleek. Works with my sd card and usb phone charger. I would keep it in a safe place where it can't get damaged and I would also not leave it in my computer unless I need to use it just because I don't want it to hit something and possibly damage the thunderbolt port

So far so good, no real complaints
So far so good, no real complaints. The only potential problem might be the hub connector sticking out as one needs to be careful when putting the item in a bag not to bend or break it off. Yes could have had a separate cable to connect the device instead of the connector protruding out but then one could misplace the cable and the device would be useless. Anyway this is nitpicking and glad I bought the item.

Does what its supposed to do
It gets the job done. My biggest issue is the microSD card slot. Theres no spring load on it unlike most devices where you push the microSD in until it clicks then push it in further and it pops out. This microSD card slot is very picky, you have to slide the card in just enough for your computer to recognize it; if you slide it too far in or too far out, it will be unrecognizable. The regular SD card slot is much easier to use as you just slide it in until it until it can't go any further and it works fine; fyi, you must insert it upside down. So a heads-up to other customers looking to buy, if you are going to be using this for a microSD card, I recommend also buying a MicroSD-SD or MicroSD-USB adapter. That'll save you the frustration. Another slight concern is its not very flush onto the Mac, you might pull out the entire dongle when trying to remove any external devices. All in all, the hub does what it supposed to do and gets the job done. If it had the spring load on the microsd slot, I'd give it 5/5 stars. The metallic finish makes it look like it came with the Mac.

Great, but has some flaws
Updated review: I bought this November 2016, and didn't start using it until my laptop arrived just before Christmas 2016. I thought about keeping it in my go bag, but, since I work from home, it ended up just living on a quiet portion of my desk. I have a hub built in to my monitor, so this really only got used as a memory card reader about once a month or so.It is now completely dead. My Macbook Pro does not recognize it as a USB hub. I've tried all the ports. It simply lights up and gets incredibly hot (pretty much too hot to touch). So, in 8 months, with maybe 3 dozen uses, this hub has completely failed. Please don't waste your money on this product. There are better ones on the market. Stay away from Satechi.Original review: First off, this is the best product out there (right now) for connecting all of your peripherals on the go.However, there are a couple reasons this gets 3 stars instead of 5. It gets uncomfortably warm when it's plugged in - even when nothing is connected. It also doesn't seem very stable - I would have liked to see this be the same height as the MacBook Pro, because it seems like it's going to break if you touch the top of it.I'd love to see this same adapter with two connections and a direct USB-C 3.1/Thunderbolt 3.0 port (not a lower output USB 3.0 only without Thunderbolt support) added, as well as a vent or two. Pretty much every adapter in this class/style that has a second USB-C/Thunderbolt 2.0 port blocks the side of the computer and lacks the ability to use a Thunderbolt device, requiring plugs to go on both sides of the computer. In my opinion, this is great for occasional use and for throwing in your bag for usage on the go, but I wouldn't depend on this for a daily hub.

OtherWorldComputing is advertising a nice USB-C hub for three times the price of this ...
works as advertised. Most importantly: unlike the IVSO hub adapter that only claims it charges the MacBook while also connecting the USB devices, this one actually does it! I was able to connect to two portable HDs and do a hard-wired back-up while charging.OtherWorldComputing is advertising a nice USB-C hub for three times the price of this adapter; though it appears to be more complex, their promised delivery has slipped from September 2015 until today, and still counting...The only drawback of this adapter is that its physical connection to the MacBook, via the USB-C port, is flimsy. One has to be careful not to disconnect it by the sheer weight of the 3 cables attached to it....

Solid product - USB C port is for CHARGING ONLY
Pros: Solid device. Cosmetically flawless. The color and material match my MacBook perfectly. The ports all appear to function. Pass-through charging works fine.Cons: Something I noticed that is not specifically pointed out in the product description is that the pass-through USB C charging port works ONLY to power the MacBook. It does NOT pass data through the USB-C port (such as from my USB-C to Ethernet adapter) or charge devices in the other direction (such as my Galaxy which I connect to my computer with a Micro USB to USB C cable). This is a bit irritating and disappointing, especially as it isn't pointed out in the product description. The hub is also a little wiggly when plugged in. This isn't a product flaw, but rather something that you've got to expect. The thing's being held to the side of the computer by a single connection - of course it'll wiggle a little. Not a con, just something to be aware of when using.Three stars for a solid, good looking product. I'll bump it up to five if the product description is changed to more accurately describe the true functionality of the USB-C port.

A great product.
A great product. So far, I've only used the USB A connection to transfer data to a new MacBook, but it did what it was supposed to do. I'll be using it for the Micro SD once I get settled in to my new digs. Matches the finish of the Mac well, and has a small indicator light. As to some reviews saying it's not well built, I'd say it fairly well built - if it was built like a tank, it'd be bigger, bulkier and heavier - just treat it with a little respect and you should be fine.
