At first I thought charcoal rakes were just one more accessory that isn't needed, but after doing a bit of grilling and struggling to move coals around, I found this is a helpful tool to have. The weber one looks nice but isn't available anywhere and is more money. Plus this one breaks down in half. it wobbles some at the connection but again its a charcoal rake. Not a hoe.

Excellent quality and the perfect length to deal with hot coals.

I like the length. I have been using a big screwdriver as a (charcoal rake) for the last couple years. I didn't even know such a thing as a charcoal rake existed. Until the handle fell off my screwdriver from the weather (5 winters). I had no reason to look for a replacement. My screwdriver was 12 maybe 14 inches. And that is OK, if I use my grilling mitts also. But this is like 30 inches. Nice. And it pretty thick and durable. seems like it will last. I have only one complaint. The unit will come apart in the middle. Which is great, I can put it in my grill back. With all my other tools, mitts, thermometer, grill lifter, brass brush. All that stuff. My complaint? When I assemble the two half together, there is a little wobble in there. It just causes the product to feel cheap and poorly designed. This rake is, so close, to my approval and recommendation. I would that the handles get a bit of a screw on them. Keep the locking nub that it already has. But enough threads for a half a turn, maybe a whole one.

This is a must have for any serious smoking or grilling to get your wood or coals under control. Handle stays cool, and it feels like a quality tool. Hopefully we get many seasons use out of it.

This is a light wt instrument, thin but effective rack for embers. This works well for bbq may not hold up for heavy fires

I love the fact that this item is very sturdy and it has a sharp tight edge for detail I had a problem for the last 2 months of my pizzeria with burnt pieces of pepperoni etc causing smoke because I can't get to it with a standard brush this item scrapes everything effortlessly along the side walls of my oven and it pulls it cleanly from the back of the oven to the front and a smooth simple fashion so I can dispose of any debris or burnt char it has kept down the smoke and my pizza place and any debris getting on the pizza pies because it's so efficient this device I believe it's so sturdy that we will last me many years I bought the upgraded one with the heavier gauge deal well worth the upgrade go for the better one it's well worth it I will give 10 Stars if it was available to give you guys are great!

light weight but sturdy, does what it is supposed to do easily. Excellent tool for raking coals in our wood stove

The rivets on the rake head are so loose it just flops around, will not be long before it falls off !
