Very happy with this item. It is exactly what I wanted . Works great in my stove. I just ordered another for a second stove I own.

fits nicely with my optimus polaris on the trangia windsheild, but i wish it had bigher holes for stove pipes and adjusters, so I don't need to disassemble the stove pip to install the adapter

I purchased this and when it arrived, there was simply a plastic bag that contained the cup and a 'W'-shaped piece of spring steel.This review would have been five stars, but for the lack of any indication how it is supposed to be used.Having some exposure to things mechanical, in the face of no information, I ass-u-me d the piece was a retainer that would be mounted underneath, securing the burner cup to the lower half of the pot stand/windshield. Try as I might, I could not make it fit.I stumbled upon an older video by a talented odd-ball who goes by the handle 'berniedog' [and is likely to attack you for using a handle - has a screw loose -- but talented with stoves] where he had a Nova stove attached to a Trangia 25 or 27 with this burner cup. As soon as the video was done, I went back to the bench and attached my Nova to the cup after placing the spring piece inside the cup -- effectively it only works as a spacer with some rigidity. As other reviewers have mentioned, the fit is a bit tight, and that combined with the stiffness of the fuel hose for the stove makes it a bit fiddly to get it in place and keep it there flat. Once it is all together, have your fuel connected and pressurized, squirt the alcohol to primed, then it works like a champ. Elsewhere I saw a recommendation I can pass on here -- if you use the Trangia pot system, it's worth buying separately the PRIMUS pot holder, as it is much better than the Trangia version.

Fits my Optimus Polaris Optifuel perfectly. It’s better than the flimsy one Optimus makes, which is a different design.

This is a one piece design (actually, there is a removable retainer spring that resides inside the cup) that houses either Nova liquid fuel stove or Primus Omnifuel type of stoves. Nova stove burner fits better than Omni- or Multifuel stoves.The two piece design that is cheaper also works well, but when windy, the wind seems interfere with flames. With this cup design that completely covers the circular opening, such an annoyance is eliminated.The user will have to remove the burner and control valve from the barrel body by disassembling the fuel hose and the control valve. Reassemble the burner body, and then insert into the Trangia windscreen, and your are good to go.Trangia system is a tried and true, all-weather stove. You can literally cook a meal in a hurricane, but why would you do that? It is heavier than say, dinky titanium pot and soda can stove, but it comes with all the bells and whistles you need to cook a meal.Unlike the alcohol burner that comes with the Trangia Stove Set, this burner will cut down on cooking time with powerful flames at the cost of the burner noise. The original alcohol Trangia burner is excellent, and if you do not mind waiting 10 min for getting your meal ready, you do not need this gadget. Then again, why do people need fast cars with bigger engine?
