Nice label maker
Bought on Amazon Today's Deals for $39 dollars. Nice label maker. Works great and fits in your hand nicely. Hook up to your PC/MAC is easy and is the best way to print labels. The "so called" short life battery problem is not really a problem at all. It is very easy to just remove the battery while not in use. Also, when the 420P is hooked up to your computer the unit will continue to operate even though the battery charger remains plugged in to charge the 420P. This will allow the battery to stay fully charged. Only when using the 420P keyboard will you be unable to charge it and print labels at the same time.

Great for multiple lines of text
I’ve been using this for about a week to label my cross-stitch projects and it’s working out perfectly. Not only can I have multiple lines of text on one label (I’m using the 1/2” size) the sticky tape on the back is split down the middle and is much easier to remove than the brand I was previously using.

BEST TIP: BATTERY WON'T CHARGE - NEED TO RESET MACHINE!
I found battery not charging and still fairly new and got this info from Dymo and posting it here for others:1. Remove the batteries and cartridge press the On/Off button 20 times.2. Reset the printer to factory settings: Turn the device off, simultaneously press the following combination: Backspace + 9 + on/Off button (press and hold first two keys and then press third one). You should see the words “Erasing” appear on the screen if the step was done correctly. This worked awesome and hope it helps someone from not having to wait on hold with Dymo!Print out above tips and paste inside battery cover:) I had to search for my review to find how to reset. The problem is when you go from AC charging to battery charging; I think it needs to be reest every time.

ORDER EXTRA ROLLS!!!
This is my first label maker and I really really like it. My main complaint is the roll provided with the machine is extremely short!!! Had I known that I would have ordered extra rolls when I ordered the machine. I was just getting started labeling all my parts containers when it ran out. Now, I'm stuck waiting two days and won't be able to spend time doing the rest of it until next week.MAKE THAT CLEAR SO PEOPLE KNOW TO ORDER EXTRA.The machine is very easy to use, buttons feel good (high quality) and the labeler works great, very quiet.Really, really wish I could keep working today on this project!!!!

Great product - but will not charge
This product came partially charged. I used it quite a bit over several weeks/months. When the product lost charge, I plugged it in to recharge. However, I am unable to get this product to charge. Therefore I can no longer use it and, despite how great it had worked, it is useless to me. I have reached out to Amazon and they were unhelpful. I have also reached out to the manufacturer and am awaiting a response. Also to note - it does not come with any label film. You must purchase that separately. This does not factor into my, but it wasn't clear to me, as I (incorrectly) assumed that the product would come with one cartridge. Buyers should know to purchase this in conjunction with film.

It’s the gadget u didn’t know that u actually NEED!!
I’ve never owned a label maker cuz I actually never thought I needed one...until now! I’ve never been an “organizer” type of person...“controlled chaos“ is more my style, but I’ve recently decided, I need to change that way of living cuz organized really is so much more calming and peaceful - that is if u can actually survive the actual “organizing” part of the process LOL. So my journey to organize began...bins and baskets of many sizes, shapes and styles entered my life. Once I started organizing everything, I temporarily used a dry erase marker to label everything until I decided everything was where I wanted it. Then I decided, it was time....to own a label maker! I chose this one after reading many articles and reviews on label makers...yet another rabbit hole when trying to decide which one to actually purchase LOL. This unit is on the larger size, but has many great features, that someday, I’ll research in detail to know this things full capability. For now, baby steps...this organizing thing is very overwhelming LOL. I admittedly had to hire someone to come in and help me cuz I was like, oh my, I think I’m in over my head here! All in all, this was a great purchase. I find myself reaching for it more and more when I come across something that I now recognize, should be labeled. I’ve ordered all kinds of compatible tapes on Amazon (another rabbit hole LOL) and swap out the various sizes quite often. I’ve found that the 3/4” (and a 20 pt. font) are the ones I prefer most...easiest to read from a 5-10 ft. distance. It has a good battery life and doesn’t take that long to charge. It comes with a charging adapter as well. Dymo is a solid brand and I would definitely recommend taking the leap and making this purchase!

Label-Maker Convert for Life
Never thought I’d be a person to use a label maker, but now I definitely am because of this one! It was so easy to use and even the standard settings on the machine itself (not hooking it up to the computer to use the full software) provides a ton of options that turned out to be great for so many needs.
