Heavier gauge wire than traditional landscape stakes!
These crawlspace stakes are very well-made, and the included white cap is helpful. In my vapor barrier installation, I had HOPED I could use this around the perimeter of my crawlspace and in areas where I wanted the 12 mil to suck down to the ground. These stakes worked for me about 10% of the time.....and only in areas of the crawlspace where there are no rocks (of any size of shape!) However, the majority of the crawlspace is rocky under the soil.....so now I have a giant surplus of these stakes. I hope to utilize them in a different project at some point. We'll see!

Hold plastic done in our crawl space under house making it easier to walk and repair equipment. Also by keeping plastic in the lace keeps radon levels down.

Stabilize vapor barrier
This year, I decided to go ahead and encapsulate my crawl space. The companies around me wanted more than I was willing to pay for it, so I decided to do it myself. One thing I noticed was that not all companies had all the supplies I wanted in their stores. I found these stakes on Amazon for $30/50ct. They are basically garden stakes with the white plastic cap. The cap helps keep the vapor barrier from pulling through the stakes as you move over it. I also taped over the cap to help keep any water from seeping up onto the top side of the vapor barrier. Part of my crawl space can be used for storage, and these keep the vapor barrier from sliding around when I go in and out. They should also keep it from floating badly if air pockets form. I definitely recommend them.

Only works with non-rocky soil.
These work great as long as you do not have rocks/boulders in your ground.
