The cup opening faces downward (the word “BugSnub” on the side of the cup should be upright). It can stretch, and it should fit snugly. Squeeze at least 2/3 of a packet of gel into the cup. It may be easier to apply the gel if you flip the cup inside-out. Smear the gel evenly inside the cup. The gel must form a complete ring. Hang your bird feeder from the shepherd’s hook. Don’t allow your feeder to touch other objects, like tree branches. This could give ants a path to the nectar, bypassing the BugSnub.
