A great alternative to MOD chips. Play imported PS2 games on the following US Playstation 2 systems without voiding your warranty: SCPH-50000 SCPH-50001 SCPH-50002 SCPH-50003 SCPH-50004 SCPH-50010 SCPH-55001 SCPH-55006 SCPH-55007 SCPH-55010 SCPH-39000 SCPH-39001 SCPH-39002 SCPH-39003 SCPH-39004 SCPH-39008 SCPH-37000 SCPH-30000R SCPH-30001R SCPH-30002R SCPH-30003R SCPH-30004R SCPH-30006R SCPH-35004 SCPH-35003 SCPH-35002 SCPH-35001 SCPH-30004 SCPH-30003 SCPH-30002 SCPH-30001 SCPH-30000 Package includes: Magic Slide Card 2 Swap Magic CDs (version 3.6)

Awesome discs, but get a flip-top lid!
The discs work great, but they didn't come with a case... just some paper CD/DVD sleeves. Even so, it's definitely worth the buy to be able to play import games and use cheats and stuff. I can't recommend using the Swap Magic key because it's tricky to use. Swap Magic users are better off getting a flip-top lid replacement for their PS2 instead of using the key. I got mine from Ghostcase, but there are others out there too.

Helpful note for softmodders
Great product, worked perfectly!Note: if you plan to install FreeMCBoot, you will need a genuine ps2 memory card manufactured by Sony. If you are using a cheap chinese cloned MC, then you will get an install error and wont be able to install until you have an official MC.Official Sony memory cards:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006F2EP/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

No Short Cuts
I'm the proud owner of an original and working Playstation 2 console. Back when this console was competing with Microsoft's Xbox and Nintendo's dying Gamecube, I was hunting the web for import titles, emulators and the latest news in homebrew. Eventually, I purchased a solderless modchip that connects to the mother board while altering the function of the eject ribbon cable.Currently, I'm running a second hand Playstation 2 with the same solderless modchip from AGES ago. My intention is to collect some touge vg's without necessarily purchasing a japanese console. So far, the titles I own work but at a price. My modified set up requires me to hold the eject button for a second or two. After that, the eject tray SHOOTS out, stays out and closes on it's own. In those 2 or 3 seconds, I have to swap the coder disc with the game disc. Occasionally, after selecting "Special" my import fails to play. I suspect that the disc needs be aligned in a certain way in order for the disc to load properly. The frequency of this occurence is random and very tedious. In short, these coder discs aren't a good alternative to an imported console. You'll be able to build a collection of import titles and play them. However, players who intend on playing original import titles for the long haul or for hours straight should consider an import console.

DVD Works Great But I Had Issues with the CD (You Might Have Better Luck)
These Swap Magic discs are easy to use and allow you to play imported games on your PS2. The DVD version works perfectly in my PS2 Slim. I could not get the CD version to work. The first CD I got was corrupt and they quickly sent a replacement without any hassle. However, my console still refuses to recognize it. It boots up in an emulator (PCSX2) so it might be an issue specific to my PS2 model. It's strange because my console reads audio CDs, CD-ROM PS2 games, and PS1 games just fine. By the time I realized this I figured it wasn't worth requesting another replacement CD. Be aware of this if you're planning on using it to play a lot of CD-ROM PS2 games. However, the vast majority of PS2 games are, in fact, DVDs.It doesn't come with any instructions so I recommend buying a Magic Switch kit elsewhere (eBay) and searching for a good website with installation instructions: http://www.ultimateconsoleguides.com/MagicSwitchInstructions.htm

Could have been better.
Contents:This item comes with what is stated ONLY. It is 2 discs and a slide card. There are no instructions for use, no general help information, and no tips to Modding your PS2 to make the product work. In short you are thrown out on your own with this to figure it all out yourself.Shipping:The items came to me inside a flat rate mailer inside a mailing bag. There was no bubblewrap, tissue paper packing, newspaper, ... really there was no attempt made to secure the items for transit. The CD/DVDs were tossed in with just their sleeves to protect them with the plastic tool all sliding freely around the mailer box.Operation:The product half-way works as it describes. You can play "some" games.. in fact you can probably play "most" games. However, if you are faced with a game that has multiple discs or that requires you to take the disc out at some point then you are screwed. This product ONLY WORKS ON SINGLE DISC GAMES.Support:It seems like the seller is a reasonable person willing to exchange the product if it doesnt work. They were willing to exchange my product for a new one when I couldnt get it to work (no directions on needing to mod the PS2, and no directions on using SwapMagic). After that though I got it working and asked them about playing mult-disc titles which were not working properly. Their answer was "I don't have that answer. You might want to find the answer online."What kind of answer is that? Arent they the ones that make the product? How could they not know what is going on or why/why not it wont work?I am only giving this 2 stars for the following reasons:-it works for the majority of games still-it can be used to install free mcboot hdd loader (found that later)In fact if you have good soldering skills (like me) it would be better to just go the modchip route. Which I should have done, but the Swap Magic claims about not having to mod anything and being able to play games as an alternative to a modchip fooled me. Swap Magic in my opinion does NOT replace a modchip.
