Excellent height for my center channel. Nice quality. Ordered the matching end tables as well. Completes the living room nicely.

gotta tip the planks to get them in
It is extremely heavy and awkward to handle during assembly if you are putting it together alone. I'm an average middle aged woman, so work carefully if you are assembling it by yourself. Any of the parts could easily tip and break a leg. Also, for some reason, it wasn't obvious that in order to drop the planks into position, you had to tip them horizontally to fit between the metal frame and then lower them into the grooved out notches. They should have indicated that in a picture. I was about to pack it all up because I couldn't slide in the planks, just slightly too big. If the planks had been a LOT too big, I would have figured it out sooner, but it almost worked.It looks great once it's up.

Great looking sturdy shelves that can hold a lot of weight
Very happy with the Alaterre shelving unit.Assembly was fairly easy (tip, have a second person and lift the top shelf upwards and angle it diagnoally/sideways to then straighten it back out squeeze it through each bracket).Shelves look great. Dark color with some lighter tones throughout and a bit rustic with nice grain. Do be advised this is reclaimed wood, not sure each unit will look identical. Also be aware some of the boards have a slight bend to them. Largely this goes away when the brackets are tightened and I'd expect they even out a bit more over time.Shelving is also very sturdy and can accept a lot of weight. The receiver on top weighs just under 40 lbs and I'd not hesitate to add another large component to the same shelf.Great purchase, would buy again!

Nice size, natural look - but not too rustic.
I’m very happy with this item. It looks nice, not cheap. It’s heavy, and has a nice color. Very natural looking. It did have a scratch on the top of the top shelf, which I’m mostly able to cover with decorations, but is a bit disappointing. Otherwise I would have given five stars.

Just as pictured
Just as pictured. The piece is very study. I used it as a console table for a wall. Being it has two shelves, I couldn't use many of the decorating suggestions but I still love it.
