USB to UART cable with 5V TTL level UART signals. 6 output wires terminated by a 6 way, 0.1”, Single-In-Line (SIL) connector.
6 way outputs provide Tx, Rx, RTS#, CTS#, VCC and GND. Data transfer rates from 300 baud to 3 Mbaud at TTL levels.
Connect directly to a microcontroller UART or I/O pins. 5V TTL output allows external logic to be powered from the USB port.
Replace MAX232 type level shifters allowing for direct connection of products to PC via USB.
FT232R chipset provides single chip USB to asynchronous serial data transfer interface. Works with all Windows and Mac OS versions..

The cable is built to last for years with high quality industrial grade materials. The cable works with all Windows and Mac OS versions including the latest Windows 10 and Mac OS X 10.10(Yosemite) and 10.11(EI Capitan). This cable has 6 outputs: GND(Black), CTS#(Brown), VCC(RED), TXD(Orange),RXD(Yellow), RTS#(Green). This cable can be used for a variety of applications: upgrading Legacy Peripherals to USB; interface Microcontroller UART or I/O to USB; interface FPGA / PLD to USB; USB Instrumentation PC interface; USB Industrial Control; USB Software / Hardware Encryption Dongles. The TTL-232R-5.0V is a USB to Serial (TTL level) converter cable which allows for a simple way to connect TTL interface units to USB. This version of FTDI’s USB to TTL serial adapter cables has it’s I/O pins configured to operate at 5.0V levels. The TTL-232R-5.0V uses a FT232RL IC which is housed inside the USB ‘A’ connector, and is terminated at the end of a 1.8 meter cable with a 0.1″” pitch header socket which provided access to transmit (Tx), receive (Rx), RTS#, and CTS#. These lines all operate at 5.0V levels. Also brought out on the header are Vcc (5V), and GND.
