Hyde Contour Scraper with 6 Changeable Blades , multicolor - 10450

I love this scraper! Who knew that there would be a better SCRAPER!?? It’s not for large areas or rough work, but great for detail work!

I had an old, hard maple, vanity base and bench seat I wanted to restore and repurpose as a desk. It had cut curves and groves on the base and spindle legs on the seat. The old finish was a mess. These scrapers got into grooves and channels that sanding would have detroyed. They maintained their edges. Easy to use and very effective.

A nicely made tool, I'd give it a 4.5/5 if I were allowed. The quick and easy blade changes are nice, and the variety of blades provided is impressive. My only reservation is that the blades were too small for the job I had to tackle, but the blades provided were sharp, durable, and effective. I also do not know if you can purchase just the blades when they wear out, so I'll need to look into that. The handle is comfortable and seems durable for the long haul. If you are doing fine surface preparation (furniture, molding, detail work etc.) then this is a 5/5. If you are looking to remove a lot of paint or other material from large surfaces, then this blade setup may get tedious as it is only about one inch wide. Still effective, but covers less real estate per pass. I hope this helps!

Had a refinishing project with wood that a previous owner had whitewashed or pickled or whatever you want to call it. That stuff is near impossible to get off of wood without removing a Lot of material. when it comes to nooks and crannies and fiddley-bit areas this tool is The Very BEST! It is sharp as all getout. The blades attach firmly and come off easily. The variety of blade shapes is great too. The handle is easy on the hands. I actually had one and couldn't find it, so we got another one. We did, of course, within days of delivery find the original. So now I have two. I'm not mad about it :D

I found this tool on a Thursday night, I was starting the job to scape 90 year old crown molding on Saturday. Came Friday delivery and this WAS THE TOOL! If I hadn't discovered this I would have given up. Every other too I had for this job failed. Wire Brush, heat gun, generic flat scrapers... FAILED. I was a little heavy handed and it definitely gouged the wood a bit, but I'm repainting them and it's going to look way better than it did before! Being able to change blades easily is a game changer. Took me 6 hours to scrape a 9x12 room, but removing and replacing the molding would have probably taken me as long. The release handle is a little hard to open. I think, say my wife, would have trouble opening it to change blades. All in all, great stuff!

I don't usually write reviews but this scrapper changed the game for me. I paint historical houses and it's very time consuming digging out old caulking. This Hyde scrapper is incredible. It took days off of scrapping. And if there's one thing any Painter knows is time is money. I'm so grateful 🙏 for this product. Thanks

I bought this to scrape paint off of my door, and it was okay. One of the blades was misformed, with a large metal chip left on it, rendering it useless. And the blades I used didn't really hold their edge very long. But it worked okay, so I guess it's fine.

Aussitôt reçu, aussitôt testé... à ma plus grande satisfaction. Ca fonctionne parfaitement en utilisation standard de grattoir en mode "décapage" de surface (forcément, avec des lames neuves). Mais surtout, je m'en suis servi en sculpture sur bois pour nettoyer des fonds de haut-reliefs, et pour nettoyer certains détails avec la lame ovale+pointe tenue directement à la main En résumé, un petit set d'outils pratiques et efficaces

Très satisfaite ! Je restaure mes châssis bois et ils ont de petites moulures; difficile d’enlever le vieux vernis avec une ponceuse. J’ai passé d’abord le décapeur, pour décoller le vieux vernis, avant de gratter avec cet outil. Les différentes lames sont bien utiles ! Je recommande 👍
