Please note: Glass wool, rock wool, slag wool, mineral wool, insulation materials. Mineral wool insulation are particularly known as a glass or rock wool. This is an artificial mineral fibre (KMF insulation), which includes up to 7% resin for shaping and approx. 1% oils for dust binding. When dealing with mineral wool insulating materials, a distinction must be made between so-called "old" and "new" products. Under "old" mineral wool insulation products are summarized products that are considered carcinogenic. These include in particular products that were manufactured and integrated before 1996. Products manufactured from 1996 onwards are considered harmless. The conversion took place gradually, until 2000, besides harmless fibres, also mineral fibres were produced, in which a carcinogenic effect can not be excluded. The suspicion can only be refuted by a single proof. From 01. 06. 2000, only KMF insulation materials that are considered safe according to the Ordinance on Hazardous Substances (without suspicion of being cancer-related) may be produced and processed in Germany. Disposal: To determine the permissible disposal way, mineral fibre waste must be assigned to the waste types of the European Waste Catalogue (EWC). In the individual German federal states, country-specific regulations apply to disposal.
