PLEASE READ before purchasing this item!!!
I've purchased 4x of these adapters, all resulting in the same outcome. Does not work if your trying to connect any device that is dependent upon CEC/DDC Ground. What does this mean? If your purchasing this item like I did for my Raspberry Pi / Motorola Lapdock modification the lapdock will not detect any signal due to the inferior construction of this item. The CEC/DDC grounds on high quality adapters will be connected from Pins 13 & 17 to the internal ground from the micro USB connections, This is not the case with this adapter. After exhaustive research all stating the same thing, most if not all portable devices that use an micro-HDMI female or male connector requires this ground in order to detect a present current (or video signal) before activating the rest of the components. From articles I have found on the web, states it is possible to remove the outer casing of this adapter, then removing the hardened plastic around the circuit board and solder a jumper from pin 17 to the outer shield ground connection. I HAVE TRIED THIS WITH NO POSITIVE OUTCOME. If your a reader who is trying to connect a Raspberry Pi and an Motorola Atrix Lapdock then find the parts from other merchandise websites. I was unable to find any of them that worked from this site,sorry Amazon, I love your site but did not carry the parts needed. Unfortunately I was completely unable to find the 3 cables I needed from anywhere within the continental United States and had to order the parts from China using other websites. You can find the project tutorials on the web listing the correct parts. (Micro HDMI Female to Female Coupler, Micro-HDMI Female to STD HDMI Male (Found on Amazon Basics), and Micro-HDMI Male to STD USB 2.0 Male)Hope this helps others and more importantly saves you money, time, patience.

Hiding cables
I used this connector to hide my TV cables. It is a concrete wall and the hose to pass the cables thru has a small diameter. I used a HDMI to micro HDMI cable, so the connector helped me a lot to connect the cable and hide it.

This adapter is exactly as described.
I used this adapter to connect my laptop hdmi connector to my Kindle's 25 foot hdmi cable rather than buying two different cables. It works correctly without any problems.

El adaptador funciona para video, pero no soporta ARC
La descripción del producto no indica que tipo de funciones soporta ni bajo que protocolo fue hecho. Pero parece ser un HDMI 1.1Pasa el video sin problema (solo lo probé a 1080p). Pero no soporta funciones más avanzadas, en particular la función ARC.Necesitaba el adaptador para poder usar un cable micro HDMI a través de un conducto estrecho en el muro, por el que un HDMI normal no podía pasar. Lamentablemente al conectar con mi AV-reciever, no funcionó la opción de retorno de audio.Lo regresé porque solo me sirve a medias sin esta función.
