Owl Moon

This is by far the most amazing children's book I've ever seen. Our daughter LOVES it and asks us to read it to her constantly. Such a beautiful story and drawings. She was just under 2.5 when we started reading it to her and it was PERFECT for her even then (despite it being really quite advanced language).

A truly beautiful and evocative book. Has become one of my favourite picture books.

We were charmed by the unique subject, the visual and lyrical descriptions of the frozen North American landscape, and that the characters were for once a girl and her father, on an adventure together. It is a beautiful book, and our 20 month old loves it dearly, and so do we.

I bought this book because I liked the idea of a chldren's story being about people rather than talking animals, etc. The story is very nice - a girl goes on a special night out with her father in nature. The illustrations are lovely. The writing of the story, however, is incredibly flowery, trite, and wordy. Both my husband and I find it way over the top to the point of being annoying to read.
