The founders of Enterprise Design Patterns. What else do you expect This
I first came into contact with Patterns in Matt Zandstras excellent ouvre Design Patterns using PHP book. It's a classic in itself and a stand alone peice of marvel in website design. In that book Matt exemplifies the basic ideas started by this books authors nick named Gang of Four, and heavily leans on the edifice created by them. I recommend that book to be read after this one.Coming back to this book l cannot recommend enough to read another book other than this one for a first reading. Outdated I agree but what is the use of an iPhone that is without a sim card. Similarly modern books are up to date but you will not know why you are reading patterns if you don't read this one.Design Patterns are for enterprise software solutions where common tragic flaws were encountered and solved. It would be useless to reinvent the wheel in software as fore warned is fore armed . If you want to design a software that doesn't encounter oops oriented flaws when scaled to a enterprise level, you have to read this one.For good or for bad if you have entered the software feild and looking for salvation from design pitfalls resurrect yourself by starting to read this book. Later you can update yourself with any other book like Matt Zandstras.Amen

This is not the edition advertised in photo.
Either 20 pages are missing or the description is wrong (Original book has 416, here it's mentioned 400, I got 380). Please mention whatversion you're really selling. Pages are randomly printed. Not worth it. I would've liked to pay more and get an original unadulterated copy rather than this.

De Facto Reference for Design Patterns
Design Patterns is the de facto reference book for applying design patterns in Object Oriented Programming. As a programmer I think this is the best book out there for studying and learning to apply design patterns in programs. The material is written in a very clear and concise way and the concepts have been explained clearly and backed up with adequate examples. I've learned about design patterns from other sources too but it was difficult to understand and the concept has been hazy at best leaving me unsure about how to go about applying them; this book teaches not only about the underlying concepts but also about their practical applications. The examples are in C++ which is a common language in the world of OOP; though my main programming languages has always been either Java or Python.Overall it's an excellent book for anyone looking to learn about design patterns or how to apply them in a program.

Content -Great. Page & print : best.
Received it half an b4, I needed this book badly, but reading reviews about its print and page quality made me postpone it's purchase. Finally couldn't wait anymore and ordered it.On opening it I was relieved. Both print & page quality are good. Please note : the book shown the picture in amazon and the book in my hand, has different cover. The image is same. PEARSON - font. Person has changed its logo. So the print is new.Quality of the book is good. Buy it without confidence. Hopefully ur seller doesn't send you older print.About the content : should I? It's the bible of design patterns.

Not original. Poor paper and ink quality.
This is not original copy. Paper quality is poor . Ink smudges when finger touches the paper and ink.Few papers were loose and I had to glue them together.Regarding contents.. there are spelling mistakes and no page number in brackets for strategy reference.
