We have been able to bottle the smooth Kentucky bourbon flavor and now you can make your own Kentucky Bourbon Flavored alcohol in only weeks for a fraction of the cost in your local liquor store. You can do it with our Flavoring Kit that includes everything you need except the neutral flavored liquor. The Red Head Oak Barrel Bootleg Whiskey Making Kit is a prepackaged combination of our charred American Oak Aging Barrel and our (most popular) Kentucky Bourbon flavored essence used for making your own flavored spirits. Each Flavoring Kit comes with enough essence to make one batch. You just add the neutral flavored alcohol (vodka) of your choice to the barrel along with the essence. Just add our 2 - 20ml bottles of Kentucky Bourbon essence flavoring to your unflavored vodka and age in the American oak barrel. It will come out rich and flavorful. You can age it as little or as long as you like based on your taste. Use the barrel multiple times and you can age your own liquor at home

Chipped around the seals!
Don't bother poor workmanship chipped around the seals, so this will make it difficult to cure/seal. Plus I knocked the tap just a little the wood split!

Faulty
Went to use this item and found it to have lose wooden bits moving about inside it. Can't even return it as there is no button for faulty. Not happy about this.

Lovely
This mini barrel is amazing, I wish if the supplier could provide bigger size (3L - 5L) from the same manufacturer ?!

How to Cure
The barrel holds 1.75Litres so not sure why it’s described as being a 2Litre barrel? However I am impressed by this barrel and still gave it 5 stars. It comes with and extra wooden tap which I think is a nice gesture. Some advice for anyone who is just starting out like I am. Try avoid this simple mistake I made.I brought this barrel and wanted to first fill it with Oloroso Sherry and turn it into a mini sherry cask before adding my whisky. Here’s my advice:Don’t cure the barrel with water as everyone suggests. I wish I had first filled with Sherry to cure as all the sherry will be drawn into the wood rather than water.I made the mistake of filling with water first and waiting around 12 hours for all leaks to stop before adding my sherry.I Have already purchased a second barrel and when that one arrives I will cure it with Sherry and leave it for 6 months before emptying and filling with my whisky.P.s I brought MacDuff Clan Denny to use as my whisky to age. And I am planning to age in this barrel for 4/5 years. And I will turn the barrel every now and then as it ages
