Does not fit hunting rifles with basic bipods, as advertised.
The case itself its great but if I can't even fit my little Remington 700 with 44mm scope and small harris ultralight bipod then why advertise that it fits bipods? One star deduction because it did not even come close to fitting with scope and normal, if not small, hunting bipod. Otherwise an awesome case to have will be mounting it on my 2019 Sportsman 570. My 45-70 lever gun with MRO red dot and sling fits this no problem as I expected it would. Also fits good with my Rem 700 with 44mm scope and sling, but NO BIPOD. The bipod area isnt even close to being wide enough for a harris bipod even without a scope.

Nice sturdy rifle case!
I bought this case for my 2021 Polaris General 1000. Its made to mount on the side rails of the bed with the Polaris lock n ride system. I did not like that it sticks out way past the back of the bed. So I fabricated a stand for it to sit on and put a 1" square tube as a spacer in between the gun boot mount and the lock n ride bracket so it doesn't hit the back of the cab. I bolted the stand to the bottom of the gun boot bracket using the existing mount holes. Then I just used a rachet strap to hold it down in place because the front of the bed rail is very flimsy and would not hold the weight of the case and rifle when driving down the trail. I also used tye bungee cords to take the play out of the latching mechanism that the gun boot slides into the mount. I knew I would have to make modifications before I even bought it. I only had to modify the lock n ride mounting bracket mount hole on ine side so it would line up. Otherwise the whole system can be removed and used on the bed rail as it was intended. Nothing is permanently mounted. The case fits perfectly along the back window and does not protrude on either side. The rifle case claims it fits scoped rifles and AR platform rifles but neither my AR nor my Remington 700, both with a Vortex Viper PST 5-25x50 scope fit if you use the soft case that fits inside. So I had to remove the case and strategically place high density foam inside to protect my rifle. So over all I would still recommend this system but you may have to be creative to make it work for you.

Biggest gun boot I can find.
Biggest gun boot I can find, but it’s still not big enough for my favorite gun. In all fairness, it’s a rather large gun with a real big scope on it. Kolpin doesn’t have the mount I need for it either. I had to make one.

Doesn’t really fit bolt action rifles with large scopes
My two main hunting rifles have 56mm scopes on them. They wouldn’t fit due to the soft inner case. I had to change the inner case with another one I had that has a zipper that goes the length of the top of the case which fixed the issue. They either need to design a case that opens from the top or change the inner case with a zipper that covers the length of the top of the gun to give you more wiggle room. The inner case is the problem. I still have to take the slings off both guns to get them to go in and out. Another issue I’ll bring up is with the mount itself. If you have a back windshield on a newer Polaris it won’t work. I had to mount on the side which isn’t what I really wanted but will live with it. Overall it will work but I probably wouldn’t have purchased if I would have known these things up front.

Fits Scoped AR (Full A1 Configuration)
I upgraded from the Koplin Gun Boot 6.0 to the Stronghold XL. I love this version. They fixed all the things I struggled with on the 6.0.- I bought this mount for Polaris Ranger: Kolpin Stronghold Auto Latch Mount (UTV Polaris Lock/Ride Compatible) - 30815- The mount secures easily to any side of the Ranger bed. Sturdier than past models.- Mounts to the back side of the bed w/ no issues opening and closing bed tilt.- It comes on and off the mount easily so you can quickly bring the whole case into the house or tent.- Fits AR w/ long 30MM scope (+sunshade), full A1 stock (non-collapsable), sling, some bipods fit, not all.- Fits all my long guns: Scoped Lever, Shotgun, Scoped Rifle, Scoped AR- The unit has lock points where you can fasten your own lock to the mount and to the case opening.- Opens and closes a lot easier than Gun Boot 6.0They got this one right. Great product!

Overall Pleased
I like this gun boot but my only complaint is that I have to remove my bipod in order to put my rifle in it. Other than that, I think it’s a good design. Attaches and comes out of the holder easily.

Bolt action guns will not fit.
This gun boot is labeled as their XL model. However it would not fit my bolt action rifle. I could not get the gun into the opening provided at the rear of the case. I removed the padding to see if it would fit and my rifle would not go in far enough. It says it fits up to 52” guns and that measures accurate. The problem is the case is shaped inappropriately for scoped bolt action rifles and way to narrow for modern sporting guns.If you are looking to Cary your musket then it would be the case for that.
