My understanding is that v1 is for 360 and v2 is for Xbox One, so this would be v2.

Yes but you gotta get a additional adapter that plugs to ur usb Xbox one in the back and the other plug goes to the Kinect. So yea u can plug it into the Xbox one s cause I ha e it.
