bought this setup to recover car bench seat. The tool worked well and is very sturdy. The only issue I had was the indents at the end of tool used to hold the hog rings isn't very shallow so the rings could pop out easily. Took a bit of getting used to. I wouldn't recommend it for daily use but for an occasional project it was more that capable. Very good for the price.

Great value for DIY Upholstery
Bought these to replace the leather on the driver seat in my car. Product worked perfectly. As this was my first experience with hogs ring / hog ring pliers I was pleasantly surprise at the ease of use. These seemed quite study, no “play” in the joint. Longevity is TBD as I’m not sure when I’d use them again but they’re one of odd ball things it’s nice to have on hand when it’s needed

Don’t replace a car seat cover without one of these
You can get by with a pair of regular pliers. You don’t want to. This is the right tool for the job, it’s cheap, and it’s worth waiting a day or two to get it. If you’re a professional upholsterer, you would already have a more expensive pair of these, but if you’re a DIYer like me, do yourself a favor and get these before you replace the worn out seat cover in your truck. Trust me, they’re worth it even if you do it only once.

Does the job sort of
I ordered these pliers to make custom sized bungee cords for my boat cover. The pliers were inexpensive and they do work, well kinda. The plastic coat on the handles have a tendency to slide almost off when using them so I'll be adding some adhesive to stop this from happening. I also hoped they would have fold in the sharp points of the steel hog clips a bit further. I use a second set of pliers to bend the sharp points inward to avoid having them snag something or cutting me once on the bungee cords.
