Fantastic E-reader. Don’t pay attention to the negative reviews here complaining about not having the kindle app. The people that left those reviews clearly don’t understand that this is an android based device, very different from Kobo, nook, or Kindle. All apps available to android devices (to my knowledge) are available on this device due to its use of android and the google play store. All you have to do is login to your google account (YouTube, Gmail, etc.) and you will be able to download any ebook app you desire.Personally I don’t like the included ebook app NeoReader. It’s a completely fine app, however every time you lock the device it resets the app from the current book back to the shelf. This may be an option that I’m missing in settings, but I prefer that when I open my ebook apps, that they automatically re-open the last book I was reading.Instead of NeoReader, I side loaded an app called KoReader. I’ve used this before on Samsung phones and really liked it.The one negative I can find about the device is the finger print reader. It’s not a terrible fingerprint reader, I just have frequent fingerprint read fails and I just have to lift my finger and reposition it. Not a huge problem, but something to consider.Battery life is great, only if you keep WiFi and Bluetooth off. With both on, the battery drains quickly and will probably only last a day or two. With both turned off, I would have gotten 5+ days, but I recharged it on the 5th day just because I wanted to make sure it would last while at work.I have a Kobo Libra 2, however that has been relegated to the shelf since this device is just so convenient and powerful! I love that I can put it in my pants pocket and take it everywhere I go, something I cannot do with larger ereaders.

I was really struggling to choose an e-reader considering the number of choices out there. Ultimately I settled on the Palma 2 and so far I love it. The fact that it's essentially an Android phone without the cellular feature is the biggest selling point for me. I have books across kindle, play books, and multiple other third party services, so I really didn't want to lock myself into an ecosystem requiring cumbersome side loading.Response time for the screen is very fast but you can configure it to multiple levels depending on the app you're using and your tolerance for ghosting.I love the configurable action button and volume rockers. Physical page turning buttons was another big factor in my decision; you can dictate what the volume rocker does on a per-app basis.The screen is very crisp, even with tiny text, and the adjustable brightness and light temperature sliders allows me to find a comfortable reading configuration for all times of day and in all types of environments.I think some people may prefer ereaders with everything set up for you from the beginning, but this is the perfect device for someone with multiple reading apps that doesn't want to be locked into a single ecosystem.

I found this very hard to set up only to find there’s no kindle app. Trying to download my kindle library proved so complicated, I gave up and sent the whole thing back. Feels cheaply made with horrible instructions. Just awful.

I have a basic Kindle that I've enjoyed and have no issues with, but I feel that this device can be used for multiple purposes without being limited to what a Kindle has to offer. I was looking for a more compact one that I can bring with me places, and because it looks like a phone I like that people will be less likely to ask me what I'm reading lol. Besides that, I was also looking for a device that plays music. My intention is to put my old mp3 library on here but I have yet to do that. There's already a bunch of detailed video reviews about this device that I've found pretty accurate so I suggest finding some if you want more details on what it's capable of like screen customization, audio and app capabilities, etc.I'm attaching photos to show my screensaver (does not cost extra to customize like on a Kindle), what a page of text looks like in the kindle app, the cool texture along the backside of the device (feels paper-like), and what the apps/home screen looks like.

I'm coming to the Palma from the Inkpalm 5 pro. The Palma has a whiter brighter display even without the device's light enabled. The interface is faster. Greater capacity RAM and storage.Palma settings are not as complete and strangely organized. This is also true of the Inkpalm where many controls are in Chinese even with the language set to English. But I still had better control of the settings on the inkpalm. I did have to side load fdroid and aurora on to the Inkpalm where Palma has the app store by default.Neither device really lets me get rid of their bloat apps or hide them. Their customizability is low.Inkpalm has a better update record.Both are lousy web browsers, but that's not why I want them.Inkpalm is thinner and lighter.For actual reading the Palma is better. Better screen, faster interface. More accessories like cases and covers too is helpful as well. But if you're constrained by budget the Inkpalm can be had at half the cost of the Palma now.
