Does a good job, but needs quite a bit of force to make secure.
I have been rehabbing a mountain bike I found by the bins. A previous owner had slammed the steerer tube to a dangerous degree. It was so short an external extender wasn't an option, as there was insufficient length to clamp onto to be safe. So I needed an internal fitting extender. This was just the answer. Although it takes more force than I thought to make it secure. I had everything tightened down and could pick the bike up by the steerer extension without it shifting. Once I had everything back together and went for a test ride, my handlebar slipped. I thought it was the stem slipping on the steerer extension, but it wasn't. It turned out to be the steerer tube extension rotating in the steerer tube, due to the leverage of the handlebars. When I tried to tighten it some more I found that it wanted to rotate rather than allow the wedge to move. Path of least resistance and all that. I had to clamp the steerer tube extension in vice grips, cushioned with a rag, before I could apply enough force to pull the wedge in tight enough. I wasn't using torque wrench for this, but I have used torque wrenches to fit cassette locking nuts to 40Nm, and this seemed to need more force than that. After that, I've had no more problems. Just be aware that it may take more force than you think to make it secure. Fit the handlebars and give a good pull on the handlebars, with the front wheel clamped, to check for movement before you call it job done.

Good upgrade
Perfect upgrade fits like a glove, had to mallet out my old one as it was wedged in there with all the rust. Good upgrade looks good and the new handle bars feel better than my old one now that it's wider. 👍

This is potentially dangerous
I replaced a stem which was unweildy with this. It was cheap and it seems ok. However, it is held in place by a plastic nut so I am not convinced that it is a long term solution. It is possible to turn the handlebar so that the stem slips. This is potentially dangerous so I will get a more robust unit soon.

Not useful for me.
Not useful for me. Guess something was missing. Did not solve the purpose I wanted to use it. I needed to extend the handle for my kids bike.

What I wanted
It does what I wanted it to do. Easy to install. Make sure you get the right size to go into the steerer tube on your bike. Would have been nice to have a metal top cap instead of plastic but for the money I can’t complain.

Make an old bike look new
Working on an old MTB, trying to modernise but the old-style integrated quill handlebar riser and stem stuck out like a sore thumb. This, with a new handlebar and stem, make the bike look as good as new, as well as the practicality of easy handlebar removal.

Looks good
Unfortunately did not fit in the steerer tube. Looks well built.

Wrong size
Asked for 25.4 got 22.2.First time I ordered it it was correct and I got 25.4, I have hit the order again button and this time I got a 22.2. Do you still have 25.4 inside steerer? Quality is not and issue, great item if you get the right size.
