Computer Forensics and Digital Investigation with EnCase Forensic v7

First Off.. This is a Great Beginner's book for EnCase 7+ .. So if you are making the transition from 6 ..or if you are new the EnCase product. Give this a shot. I think Steve Bunting's ENCE certification guide is a bit more technical but should be considered a must have in lieu of any Guidance Documentation.

This is absolutely a must-have book for Encase Users. I've never highlighted and bookmarked so many pages in a book in my career. She gives great guidance on how to use Encase Forensic features such as Case Analyzer and Search (great GREP tips!) but also equally important guidance on preparing reporting in a repeatable fashion that should be invaluable in the heat of battle. It focuses on the Encase Forensic product and touches on Enterprise and Portable. I'd like more there, especially on advanced Enterprise features, but that's probably a book all unto its own so I wouldn't rate this book any lower. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Well written! Concise, yet comprehensive enough to understand core concepts. Highly recommend for intro to forensics. Appendices represent some really good info.

Book is pretty good. Basically tells you how to use EnCase. Could have used some more real world examples of what to look for and how to use EnCase to do it. But overall, pretty helpful.

Great book, I use it for school worth the money and then some.

I just finished the installation chapter for Encase v7.10 and am looking forward to conducting forensic examinations of computers, smartphones, and tablets. Widup's subject knowledge is reflected in how she treats gathering and analysis of data.

Pretty basic book. I was hoping to use it for study for certifications but I feel like it isn't sufficient. Still have it in my library though.

Very good book but as it says in the intro you do need to know how to use encase 7 first, so not for novices. That said taught me a lot I didn't know the produc could do.

A great practical introduction. Obviously not as in-depth as something like the EnCE guide when it comes to what is going on under the hood, but if you are looking for a primer on how to actually use the tool, this book is something I would recommend.

Nach der Vorstellung des Buches vergangene Woche bei einem Onlineseminar von Guidance Software, habe ich mir das Ebook gleich besorgt. Die gedruckte Version erscheint erst im Herbst. Ich finde das Buch ist für Einsteiger als auch für Fortgeschrittene empfehlenswert.
