The item was very much as described and I was extremely pleased with the way in which it was dealt.

This is without doubt the best health book I have ever bought. The section on Assessing your symptoms is particularly useful with easily readable charts. The First aid section is invaluable. There are chapters covering every part of the body and the various systems ie The respiratory system and The Digestive system. Every aspect of health and treatments are covered and the Drug Glossary with information on each drug and its uses is most helpfu. There is also a comphrehensive list of online sites.

The Complete Family Health Guide contains an absolute wealth of information on all aspects of health and health care - taking you through the initial diagnosis stage; the medical tests you're likely to need to confirm such a diagnosis; what the treatment entails; and overall prognosis and management. It's incredibly detailed throughout, and for each illness/disease there is also a link to websites and organisations containing further information.The other topics covered in depth are all prescribed medicines and drugs (including information on side-effects); a guide to the different types and levels of hospital and community based care and what to expect; mental health issues; and symptom charts with diagnostic tools enabling you to come to a conclusion as to what maybe wrong with you and whether or not to contact your doctor or hospital.There is also a chapter on genetics and how your genetic make-up can affect your health, and there is also a chapter using the 'cradle-to-grave' approach which outlines the types of illnesses affecting each age group and life stage.I think health practitioners would benefit from this book just as much as patients, and you'd be hard pressed to come across another medical book as clear and concise as this one. I would also say that this book is likely to last about 20 years before you need to think about replacing it for an updated version.
