23andme the One and Only Me

This was a used book. It is in very good shape, just a minor tear in the cover which was disclosed. As for the book itself, it explained genetics in a good way to present to children. I would recommend this book.

Great book with beautiful illustrations and very simple language explaining to children that who they are is a matter of ancestry, environment, and chance, but also things that have yet to be understood because we need further research. There's a nice list of fun facts about DNA and our relationship with other animals at the end. It also comes with instructions on how to build a family tree. A good way for them to visualise how different they are from their grandparents, how much they owe to various races and cultures that have been forgotten, and how little time it takes for entire generations to be wiped out from our family history if they're not recorded.

A fantastic introduction to genes for little ones. My 6 yo son quickly caught on to the concept of autosomal recessive inheritance by informing me that he got the "not brown" and "not brown" genes for eye color. What a great way to introduce little ones to the exciting world of medical genetics! Both my 6 yo and 8 yo were very interested!

A great book for helping children understand the basic concept of DNA. Fun illustrations, easy to read, and even some fun activity suggestions. This is coming to the family reunion!

Well written and fun, a great book!
