Needs to be taken in combination...
The question isn't really what is glucosamine phosphate, it is what is its function in the body? This chemical is essential for joint health. Many people suffering from arthritis take it as a supplement. But, and this is very important, the chemical does not act alone. Other supplements contain a whole range of chemicals which act together to repair injured joints. I feel that 'cheeky nutrition' is wrong in separating all supplements in the way it does. Doing it their way means that you end up taking dozens of tablets, and, however many you take, you can't be sure you are taking the right combination. So, I can't recommend these. If you have a joint problem (I have osteoarthritis) I suggest you investigate tablets which tackle the whole problem..

Overkill at 1000mg
These Cheeky 1000mg Glucosamine Sulphate tablets seem to be the genuine article, effective as usual, although too high a dose and in uncomfortably big capsules. We all have different tolerances and needs, so it is worth adjusting the dose to balance effectiveness against economy. I’ve been taking one tablet on alternate days for a few weeks now (for a 500mg daily average), and my usual pains have not returned. For the last three decades I’ve been using a combination of Glucosamine Sulphate, Omega3 oils and regular mobility enhancing exercise to mitigate the osteoarthritis in my lower back, knees and ankles – not running. My usual daily dose of Glucosamine Sulphate is 500mg and I can exist for up to three or four days without it before the pain returns, but I’ve found that for me the 250mg often found in combination tablets is marginal.I always look for cheapest possible bargain offers in the supermarkets and all seem to work as well as each other. This means that I would never have tried these Cheeky tablets but for the chance Vine offering. As with all these things, shop around.

Huge pills but good value
First off these are ruddy great big pills, proper horse pills. I have read about glucosamine and it appears to be fine to crush the tablets and sprinkle them on food before you eat it. Thank heavens for that because i suspect a whole lot of people wont be able to take these pills otherwise. The tablets are a chalky white in colour and smells vaguely like yogurt (in my opinion!).If you are considering taking glucosamine tablets then the sulphate version (these tablets) have been shown to be more effective than the hydrocholride version.I think glucosamine is linked with joint care in most peoples eyes and that is what its taken for. It has been shown to reduce joint pain and is especially effective when taken for knee pain.I actually can take these tablets whole but im already on quite a few meds after a stomach op so im more used to it.Its early days yet as to whether they have had any knee effect but i hope they do because being in pain is no fun! They certainly dont have any negative effects so far.

Lower dose Glucosamine, large palatable tablets.
The price one pays for Glucosamine is a huge variable. Typically, these tablets are available in dosages of 1000mg and 1500mg per tablet.I prefer a higher dose tablet, so these 1000 mg large tablets will only last me 45 days, They are a large tablet, and easy to swallow. Some glucosamine tablets have a very salty taste, these don't as they have a glazed surface that acts like a flavourless coating. They are OK, Glucosamine has virtually no side effects, and I have found that these haven't either.Do they work? Well, I take glucosamine in combination with fish oils for arthritis, and I wouldn't want to stop taking them, 'just in case'. My hip is significantly more painful in the winter months. You'll do a lot to be pain-free, or in reduced pain. You may wish to check the average price paid for lower dose glucosamine, but you do have the reassurance of a UK based company if you choose these tablets.

Do seem to help
These are 90 large white tablets in a plastic bottle which is about 85% full. There is a security seal before you can unscrew the cap, and another sealing the opening of the bottle.I swallow the tablets easily in spite of their size.Glucosamine sulphate is regarded as beneficial for those suffering with arthritis and joint pain as it is reputed to help in the formation and repair of cartilage and joint fluid. In the case of this product it is made from the shells of crustaceans ( shrimp, crab, lobster for example) and the jury is out whether those with a shellfish allergy should avoid.I take them even though opinion on their effectiveness is divided, because I will do anything to alleviate pain in my joints and I tend to think they do help. Even if its a placebo effect...

Alleviating Joint Pain
I have always been a fan of glucosamine sulphate, as I gave this as a supplement to all of my golden retrievers as they became aged. It certainly did seem to improve their mobility. Hence a thought to take them myself as I have some joint aches and pains associated with getting older. After a few weeks trial I feel I can say that they have improved my mobility, particularly noticeable when getting up from a kneeling position. Bearing in mind my objective view in seeing how my dogs benefited from glucosamine, I do feel that the improvement is due to these tablets, so recommended.

Works for me and my dog
Nice clean packaging, the usual shaped large tablets. They go down easily with a swig of milk I find, but tea works.Taken daily for many years, the one time I ran out and gave them a miss for a moth, I got stiff joint aches, which went away when I resumed. Whatever science says, they do make a difference to me.My dog is also on the lower dose, 2nd doggie on them, neither had joint issues into old age whilst their friends did.Useful stuff but why not make it vegetarian friendly? No need to have meat products in it.

Helps with your joints.
These come in a pleasent simple jar with a nice metal screw top lid.The pills are quite large so were a little daunting but I actually had no problem taking them when washed down with a drink.I have some joint pain, especially in my knees and so far these seem to have had a positive effect with less pain when standing and walking up the stairs. So these can be helpful for those that experience joint pain like myself.
