Philosophy shower gels are so luxurious and this scent is a favorite. It's so warm and rich smelling and loved by the women in this family. Purchased many times over the years, as the scent isn't trendy or seasonal. Great to keep on hand as a gift. Just lovely.

At the prompting of my wife, for almost 18 years I've been paying for Philosophy all-in-one shampoo body wash. We've enjoyed all of the 'flavors', and the first we tried was Vanilla Birthday Cake. We also loved Waffle Cone, Fresh Cream, and Cinnamon Rolls. Each had a very authentic smell, very silky flash foam coefficient, and a solid, opaque appearance. We used to joke that we are clearly wasteful with our money for paying over $20 for a bottle of shampoo, but it was our indulgence.A month ago I had bought Fresh Cream and the bottle noted the 'new formulation' suggesting it was the same product. It is anything but the same product. It has a smell similar to a band-aid, the texture is similar to other bargain emulsified shampoo products, and it doesn't foam up nearly as dense or smoothly.Just to see if they did the same with Vanilla Birthday Cake, I bought two more bottles. It also has the new formulation and the same deficiencies.I have no idea why they would change a good thing, probably related to cost or available ingredients, but they changed too much. We're never buying this again.
