Great research
My son the architect gets this book for Christmas! He loves looking at the history of cities and how they evolved so this is perfect. Many pictures that are not easily seen are all here together.

Brings back memories
I was born in Dallas 66 years ago and except for 3 years, lived in the area all my life. Reading the book reminded me that today's Dallas is not this Dallas. The book deals essentially with historic landmarks and buildings that were leveled in the interest of modernization...all gone. But for me, seeing some of the photos brought back fond memories of spending hours as a kid in the Sears on Ross Ave.,Sunday evenings at Kip's Big Boy downing a hot fudge sundae, or hopping a bus to go to a movie at he Palace or Majestic downtown. All gone, except alive in this book and my memory.

Review of book Lost Dallas
Excellent book! I bought it for my dad for Xmas, because the pics in it looked like what he would have seen in Dallas when he was a boy. He liked the book so much, he bought two copies for his sisters! Great book on early 20th century Dallas.

Great find for Dallas history buffs
Really great. In fact, the detail in this is good enough that I am thinking of using it as a resource to build a database about downtown Dallas. Click a year and find out what buildings were on the street. (That is still to be done, of course.)
