Nearly perfect fit
2010 X5 3.0. Perfect fit. Holes lined up perfectly. The only difference is that my connector seemed longer than female end of this switch. So although it was fully seated and would not insert any more, I couldn't get the connector's locking tabs to lock into the socket. It is a very snug fit so I am not worried about it coming out and operation works fine. For the price and general fitment, it's a good product.

Fixed my e70 parking brake in 5 min
So I've been slacking on replacing my emergency brake switch that's been broken for longer than I want to saw. The final mail in the coffin was last week I kinda left my panoramic sun roof open and it poured about 3in. My wife walked by the car and it was making a clicking noise in the rear. I had to take a fuse out to stop the noise for the parking brake motor. That made it so I could not lock my car so I was alittle apprehensive buying such a cheap replacement part but decided why not try. Watched a video real quick and bam fixed and done in 5 min. As I'm writing this my wife just sent me a heck ya message. If your e70 bmw or other bmw that needs a parking brake switch look no further this switch is working perfect for me.

Buy if you want Parking Brake Malfunction
This isn't the easiest of jobs, but not hard. Biggest issue is removing the black trim around the iDrive and shifter. Must use plastic trim tools and take your time. That trim will likely want to bend to the left of the shifter as its a narrow plastic portion.Anyway, for this parking brake part I bought on Amazon, looks good and feels good. But once installed, I received a "Parking Brake Malfunction" notice on my iDrive screen and also a flashing yellow "Park" light on my instrument cluster. I decided to install the old one with a broken park button and all went back to good. When removing the new one to go back with OEM original, the new part completely came apart when trying to disconnect the connector. Such a joke! Now off to the dealership :(2011 BMW X5 E70

Great DIY replacement for 2012 X5
My 12 year old X5 Parking brake switch broke (the plastic that holds the switch in place on the rocker) like many others around this age. I found this item here and watched a couple videos on the replacement process. I spent under $10 on a little vinyl console removal kit the prevent scratching and proceeded to do the switch replacement myself. You have to be careful removing the console cover around the switch since one side near the gear shift is a bit narrow. Once that is done, the other challenging part is unplugging the cable from the old switch and then getting that cable plugged into the new one. The challenge is due to the cable being quite short. All in all, this was a worthwhile purchase that I would recommend to other DIY folks out there.

Excellent replacement FOR $100 LESS!
Works great, easy to replace if you have tools to remove panels on your car! Make sure u have these tools (car stereo panel removal tools) inexpensive and VERY useful if you are attempting this kind of stuff... Or you're going to mar surface finish using metal to pry stuff apart.Replacement part works as OEM, auto brake works great... Highly recommended replacement alternative!

Works prefect. Replaced one that did not have parking hold.
My 2007 X5 did not have a parking hold button. I couldnt find a replacement with out. Did some research and some people said they had swapped for one of these, and the parking hold works. I went ahead and gave it go. It took all of 5 minutes to swap out the broken one. Yes it works, and yes parking hold works. Clearly in 2007 they were planning on implementing this, but used old stock on the early models (mine was built January 2007). If you press the button, a light illuminates on the dash specifically for this. Everything works, and it couldnt have been an easier DIY project. Saved hundreds from taking it to a stealership.
