Working with CAT 6 (< 30m)
I have about 75ft to 80ft of CAT6 (including the patch cables) I routed through the wall a few years ago and I'm able to maintain a stable 10g connection with low RETR on iperf3 between these transceivers. They get very hot, too hot to touch for more than 1 sec, but they function well. They do cool down very quickly (few minutes to about room temp) once removed or powered off. I bought about 10 in total and I would buy more if needed.

Works great on a Unifi switch
I used these as a lower cost alternative to the Unifi product. Easy to install, same size and quality, but a great value. Perfectly compatible with our Unifi switches.

The backbone to my network
I have been using this item for a period of time at 2.5gig from my ISP and have it connected to the other device (Ubiquiti dream machine pro) at 10gig. This has worked fantastic and was a great price for its performance. I have not needed to give this another thought and would definitely repurchase this if I needed another one instead of a DAC for some reason.

Highly recommended
Functioned as expected, meet and exceeded all my husband's expections for a desktop 10GB switch.Seamless integration into Unifi ecosystem. In use since May 2025.

Runs NOT. Works, but I Get Higher Speeds with the CAT5 connection
Tried this out to convert an SFP port on my Asus router to CAT5/6 to use a a trunk to feed a switch.Found that when I trunk off this port, my speed test results are a little slower than when I use one of the CAT5/6 ports. It works, but I don't know why the reduction in speed happens.

Works better than GTEK
I bought a pair of the GTEK equivalent, and neither worked in my Unifi Dream Machin Pro SE. Then I bought this one and everything worked perfectly. I was using it with a 5Mbps USB3.0 adapter on the PC side, so maybe that complicated things for the GTEK, but at any rate this product works.

Best bang for the buck on Unifi
I bought 3 of these to work with a Ubiquiti UDM Pro Max, a Ubiquiti aggregation switch and my existing Cat6/Cat6a wiring in my house. Everything worked great, and recognized at full 10Gbps speeds with no issues. I would say these are the ones to get if you're going to be using SFP+ to 10GbE transceivers and Unifi gear (and likely pretty much any other SFP+ device).

Works good for 2.5Gb and 10Gb.
Used 4 of these to connect my NAS/Servers. Works great full 10Gb no issues.
