Great Machine and Excellent Customer Service
Review: Sainsmart Genmitsu 3030 CNCI purchased the Sainsmart Genmitsu 3030 CNC in April 2024 and really enjoy using it. I had no previous experience with CNC machines as my career was in Human Resources. I was just looking for something new to learn in retirement for a hobby. This is a versatile and powerful machine that has impressed me with its capabilities. Some other information that I have read suggest that the 3030 was designed to be used for metal work but I have only used it to do carvings on woods such as Basswood, Oak, Walnut, Cherry, and Mahoganey.Three features that I really like about the 3030 are:1) The Precision and Accuracy of the machine. It uses dual linear guides and ball screws within the X, Y, and Z axes which I understand is better than some other designs.2) The 3030 CNC was really easy for me to set up and begin using right out of the box. {And it was packaged very well.) I was able to run my first project within a few hours of receiving it.The 3030 has proven to be quite durable with minimum maintenance required during the nine months I have used it. {This includes many hours of use...sometimes many hours daily.)There are a couple of areas that may cause concern for some users depending on the materials being used and location of the machine.1) Noise Level: The machine can be quite noisy during operation, which might be a concern for those working in shared or quiet environments. (I don't know that this can be improved on because after all it is a router.)2) Limit Switch Issues: Although this has not been a problem for me some users have indicated occasional issues with the limit switches, which can affect the machine's performance. (This only seems to be those that machine metal which have particles falling into the limit switches...I personally have not had these issues with wood.)One other thing I would like to mention is the excellent customer service that Sainsmart has provided me with the 3030 along with my Genmitsu L8 20 Watt laser, (especially Jamie, the agent I have communicated with in the past.) They have been responsive, helpful, and gone above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction on any questions I have submitted by email.I would recommend the Sainsmart Genmitsu 3030 CNC both beginners and experienced users.

Robust Machine
This is a wonderful machine. I purchased a different machine with similar specifications and size, and this one beats it in every category. It is more sturdy, the motors are more robust, and it is put together to not have cabling issues. Everything was thought out well. The offline controller is a bit lacking as it does not give coordinates, which I find easier to use to set the zero point. Also, it does not have a feature in the offline controller to use the Z-axis probe. I think if there is one area where Genmitsu could improve, it is in the offline controller. Not everyone wants to use a computer. I also could not get the WiFi adapter (sold separately) to work as that has some added features, but may also be somewhat lacking. However, the overall build quality and design of the machine is by far superior. Even the motors are quieter that my other machine, just keep in mind, it is a router. Note, I opted for the 710W spindle to cut aluminum.

Great unit for the price and very capable
This is a very stout machine and combined with a Makita router easily capable of machining aluminum. Customer support is helpful and works to resolve issues. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I’ve had two units arrive with shipping damage. They are heavy and the carriers just toss them around. Hopefully a bit more attention to the packaging can protect against this.

Great little machine out of the box.
This machine worked for me great out of the box. I do have a lot of machining experience however I didn't need hardly any of it to get this machine up and runing, assembly instructions are clear and easy to follow. I did not use the provided computer software, I wanted to use the offline controller as much as possible and it's a bit limited but does great for everything I have done so far. The machine has a couple little quirks with the controller but overall very useable. Build quality of the machine is very good for a light duty machine its very sturdy as long as you don't push it to hard it should work great for most things small scale diy. I have about 70 hours machining aluminum so far and it's still running as good as day one. Dimensional accuracy is better than most people can measure its within a .01mm over 100mm plenty good for me. Overall very pleased with this machine. The one bad thing I have experienced so far is the z axis touch probe does not work reliably (I don't use it) it will work fine but you need to verify that the cable is plugged into the controller properly and that the touch trigger is actually stopping the machine when contacting the tool., otherwise it will just keep going.
