Bought this for the pool. To turn on and walk away with no worries about over filling the pool. Works great. I still use a timer on the water main just in case. Buy I've had no issues.

I should have read the reviews, but Amazon said it was a best seller, so I thought it couldn't be bad. Wrong! The valve itself seems to work okay, but it's almost impossible to get the threads to seal. The reason is that they are not pipe threads. They are what is referred to as "merchant threads". Pipe threads are tapered to seal as they are tightened. These threads are not tapered, therefore they will be all but impossible to seal. If you are planning to use this valve outdoors and constant leakage is not a problem, go for it! Otherwise, look elsewhere. PS- I have 50 years experience as a general contractor, and I've run into "merchant threads" before, so I know of what I speak.

For the price. One of those you get what you say for kinda things!!!!!

Quality first

I was able to get the valve to function as I wanted it to, but the pipe thread size is off slightly vs US fittings. The first night it overflowed before I removed one of the fittings supplied in the kit.

Bought this float for our water tubs on our beef farm. They work great. They are smaller than the traditional float so the cow can not reach it. Stays in place and functions as it should. Water flow is great and the valve is adjustable. Very easy to install.

Liked: Basic functionality in a compact package. It works after some re-engineering of the connections.Disliked: All pipe fittings included in this product will leak if copious amounts of quality pipe tape are not used. This negates any water control. I eliminated as many joints as possible to simplify correcting the problem. Also added spacer (O-ring, and a flat washer, and quality pipe tape) as indicated in the images.Disliked: the ½ inch nut supposedly used to keep the shell together, which encloses the plastic valve assembly fails to do the job, requiring the extra spacer/O-ring.

I used them for refilling water for the deer on our ranch. It makes it so much easier to use instead of having to fill it every time we go out there. We have a 250-gallon container we filled up and just ran a water hole in the device and it works great.
