Pure gold. Thanks Mr Grossman
A must see for any aspiring blues guitarist. The low tech film direction in this collection of archived blues artists work is a breath of fresh air; no rapid zooming, panning and cranky camera angles from egocentric directors in evidence here. A continuous collection of clips of the artists performing, without the customary preliminary narration from a distant relative or even worse, a Braggish Blues Officionado normally used to pad out such material. It's 100% meat. No fat or grisle! You can study the right and left hand techniques of these masters of the blues in uninterrupted detail. I was particularly moved by the footage of Big Bill Broonzy, Mississippi John Hurt and Brownie McGhee. Was that Donovan I saw sitting in the background quietly tapping his feet? The downloadable biographical material and tune details were a nice touch and I was also able to access Steffan Grossman's alternative guitar tuning and blues tablature from the same site. Thanks Vestapol- a gem.
