Upgrading to a Vitamix is an actual HUGE upgrade
Right to the point:- **The blades are intentionally dull**- It's easy to clean (it has a clean cycle), and has no bad crevices that are difficult to reach- It's dishwasher safe- The carafe is built like a bullet-proof tank- The machine is hefty- There was no leakage while using- It's really easy to use- The variable speed feature means you can cover all the bases- The 64oz carafe is perfect (48oz might be better if you do small preparations)I had a lot of blending to do, and the little Oster wasn't up to the task. It typically had to run 3 to 5 minutes to get the consistency needed (blending chili sauce from boiled whole chili pods). The Vitamix, with its intentionally dull blades made quick work of the chili pods, needing to run for about 1 minute for the desired consistency.I also put it through its paces with smoothies, and there really are no rules for crushing ice (unlike the Oster).Bottom line, if you use your blender frequently (once or twice a week for me), then it really is worth upgrading to a Vitamix. All these years of saying my previous blender was just fine were self-delusion. If you can afford a Vitamix, it's definitely a huge upgrade over retail store brands.

Worth the expense
I debated this purchase for a very long time. I have a Ninja I love. I finally decided to get the Vitamix and I will say it has been worth the "hype" so far. First let me say it is louder than the Ninja, that does not bother me as long as it works well and works well it does. I drink a lot of smoothies and I am very pleased with just how smooth and well mixed they are. The size is great, it fits under my counter well. The best part is the cleaning cycle. No more removing blades and washing and each part, I just rinse it off, fill halfway with water, a drop of dish soap and in thirty seconds its finished, rinse, let it dry, done. I am glad a went ta little higher in the price and got the preset functions, its just easy to set and let it go. There is a weird burning small at first but the book does actually explain that will wear off and it has. Considering the price did make me cringe, I feel like it may just be worth it.

100% Recommended!! Saving $$ by Not going to more smoothie stores!
I had been looking for a new blender. I was using a blender rechargeable blender and it just wasn't cutting it. After some research and watching the lovely YouTube videos I decided to give this Vitamix 750 a try when it went on sale during prime days. I do not regret it! This video is using the dial numbers..it has many presets which I love, but I like to control the speed sometimes so the smoothie is my consistency. If it seems to stick, you just use the tamper a bit and it gets right on track. My kids agree it makes smoothies like the smoothie restaurants, so we're saving $$ by buying our own fruit and making ourselves smoothies. This one we used frozen oj, hint raspberry water, frozen mangos, cranberries, pineapple, and dates. I highly recommend! (I also used almonds to make almond milk... amazing!! Just soak almonds the night before)

Remarkably bad - failed on first use
I've had the Vitamix Professional Series 750 Blender for 7 years and it's performed very well with no issues. Unfortunately it's been discontinued, so when I needed another blender I tried out this new Propel Series 750. What a disappointment!Despite being priced about the same as my old blender, it's construction is far less robust - more plastic, less weight. Of course given the Vitamix reputation, this was not a major concern, so I set everything up and prepared to make a frozen fruit smoothie - something I've done hundreds of time with my other machine.I started blending about half a carafe of fruit, yogurt and milk, and within moments the motor cut off and a strong burning smell came from the unit. I shut it off, unplugged it, and waited for awhile before trying again. The second time around the same thing happened, and again the third time I attempted to blend just a basic smoothie. Not wanting to give up on this expensive blender, I tried one more time a few days later, but, sadly, I got the same result. I can't believe a brand new Vitamix Propel Series 750 can't make it through one smoothie! As an experienced Vitamix user, I expected far better! This unit is getting returned immediately.
