Hans Zimmer of Gladiator fame’s newest film score to accompany the mind-bending, secret-stealing dreamworld of Inception starring Leonardo DiCaprio. The composition sees Zimmer reunited with director Christopher Nolan after similar collaborations on Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, where the distinctive, atonal Joker's theme caught the attention of audiences everywhere, as well as creating the score for Guy Ritchie’s reimagining of Sherlock Holmes.

Love it.
A perfect addition if you love the film, but an album that sits on its own if you have not seen the film Hans Zimmer is the poster boy for pretty much most film music over the last couple of years (I first heard him when he did the soundtrack for the original Miami Vice - which I loved!!), and whilst sometimes he can become a bit predictable, he has, to his credit, created some exceptional music for some amazing films. Personally I loved this film, and the music added the required weight and punch to the film, giving it a credibility and deeper experience.

THE DREAM WILL BE COLLAPSING. AGAIN AND AGAIN.
Dive into Nolan's labyrinthine worlds within worlds with only music as your guide. You will get lost - and you will love every second of it. This is an extreme musical trip into the unknowable. To anyone who has not yet seen this epic movie I would strongly recommend to do so. Nevertheless, the soundtrack stands on its own. Zimmer only had the script to go by so his compositions reflect his own take on the characters and events of the movie and are not simply there to complement the pictures. The collections starts off ominously with the short HALF REMEMBERED DREAM, reaches an early peak with THE DREAM IS COLLAPSING, turns playfully threatening with ONE SIMPLE IDEA to end with my favorite, TIME, a majestic closing piece, full of new found hope and open sunbathed vistas. If you think of buying this because you were blown away by the trailer music keep in mind that it is not included. That piece is called Mind Heist and it was actually composed by Zack Hemsey, not Hans Zimmer. This is the music of the worlds within, the sound of our subconscious fears and most secret dreams; the sound of the pulsating thread that connects us with the Universe.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

A strong soundtrack for a superb film
This soundtrack projects very well the world of the film. You can hear the melancholy of the character's situation in the music - Cobb's lost wife, his desperate mission to get back to his children...Also like the excitement of the chase through Mombasa which comes across in a fast phased tune and the striving for inception that can be heard in 'Dream Within A Dream' and 'Dream Is Collapsing'.This is a very good soundtrack for an excellent film - I would say that if you liked the film, you should buy this music. My only criticism is that some of the tracks seem to be quieter than others, when I listen in my car I can hardly hear some of them - works ok on my iPod at home though.

Reasonably Priced
Again this particular CD arrived promptly and fully packaged, therefore it looked brand new. The CD was reasonably priced and I bought it because I enjoy listening to the music of Hans Zimmer. Overall I am very happy with this product.

Why should there be regrets?
Great soundtrack to a great movie, even if the director probably claims he's never heard of the 'The Matrix'. Despite it's inspired use of the brass notes from 'Je ne regrette rien' it's still too heavily dependant on Zimmer's own work on 'Batman Begins' and 'The Dark Knight' to qualify as a 5-star review. Sorry, Hans. But then again, almost every freakin' 'tec TV show and fantasy -drama movie since 2005 seems to have used music 'inspired' by your work, so why shouldn't you borrow from it?

For me a rare album that shows how music adds to the enjoyment of a film.
The music and fil work exceptionally we together. The theatre I saw it at had an increased base, resulting in the periods of higher tension and pace reverberating throughout the audtitorium.I have continued to listen to the music and would suggest this is a measure of how good I've found the tracks. For me it drowns out the general noise around me, and commands a certain amount of attention.A rare combination of music and film that remainds me of how music can add increase the enjoyment of a film.
