Worth Every Penny
Unit recently I have been a very fit 60+ aged man, more than capable of undertaking a 1000+ cal workout in the gym comprising of Cross trainer/Stepper/exercise bike, with a lightweight weights session of around 30kg reps as a cool down.Lockdown didn't pose an issue and I developed a cardio workout in the garden, resurrected my old weights and bench from the garage and devised a similar workout. Unfortunately, I became ill quite suddenly and therefore I needed something low impact to ensure that I have some cardio exercise - I can walk, but what used to be a cool down walk with the dog of 7500 steps is now as much as I can manage in a day. So from fit to recovering is where I am at.I looked at a number of exercise bikes and decided that this is probably the most appropriate for my needs and have absolutely no regrets having purchased it. I did consider buying one of the peloton family, after all, whilst they are expensive, I like exercise. I am so glad that I didn't, as for my purposes and at this moment in time, this bike offers everything that I need. As I recover, I may change my mind.So what do you get? The bike arrived and was simple to assemble. Took about 20 minutes. Once assembled it was just a case of inserting two AAA batteries and I was ready to go. So in summary:+. Easy to assemble+. Sturdy and whilst not of professional quality, the resistance in use is progressive and consistent.+. Comfortable seat and backrest.+. It has a display which incorporates a pulse reader. Personally I don't take any notice of anything other than the timer and distance covered. For pulse etc I use a chest belt which records to an app how well I am exercising, but for those who are perhaps a bit less obsessive about exercise, the display and monitor are fine.+. I balance my iPad on the handlebars and use a free app to provide me with a gentle ish programme or watch catch up TV.+. Easy to store when folded.Great exercise bike. Well worth the money and more than enough for someone who is not too obsessive, is recovering from illness or injury or who just wants some low impact cardio exercise. Whilst I'm in the obsessive category, this is more Ethan enough for me at this moment in time and I am delighted with it.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED>

As Good As Most Gym Bikes
I've waited till I've done a few hundred kilometres to do a review and have not found anything in that time to lessen my enthusiasm for this excellent machine. A bold claim perhaps, but - apart from programmed rides which I never used anyway - the ride really is as good as gym bikes. OK, the data is a bit basic, and the pulse meter takes a while to catch on, but the functionality is there and the experience is the same. The price has gone up quite a bit since I bought mine six months ago, but with excellent build quality, ease of assembly and the ride experience it's still good value for money. I searched for a while till I found this - the 110kg load was a factor for me - and it is just as good as claimed in the description. I'm not much good at assembling stuff sometimes, but this was very easy and I did it alone without the need for any "can you give me a hand with this please?" Light enough to lift easily in and out of the corner in the spare room, it's small enough that I've never even bothered to find out whether you can fold it up, but I think you can. Check out the description if you want to do that, but it is unobtrusive with a minimum footprint that won't get in the way.The sealed crank unit is smooth, and though I mainly want to "twiddle" (ancient cycle racing term) you can add to the difficulty and it still rides smoothly. Some older machines tended to be jerky when you did that, but this one remains silky smooth. I've tried - believe me I've tried - to find something I don't like or that isn't right to put in this review but I honestly can't.Brilliant - nice to buy something which meets expectation in reality and not just on paper!

Solid bike, does the trick if you are not an athlete.
I've had this bike for a couple of months now. I use it most days for 20 minutes to make up for missing my walk to and from work. I was walking 6 miles a day so was in reasonable physical shape although if someone told me to run for my life I'd just tell them to get it over with.Setup was straightforward. I took just under an hour with me taking my time making sure I was getting it right (needed a magnifying glass to see some of the diagrams clearly). The finished product is very sturdy, quiet to use (I watch a sitcom while peddling away, no problems hearing it), and folds away nicely. It is very heavy and awkward to lug around though so don't plan to store it far away from where you intend to use it.When I started using this bike I was surprised that I had to put the resistance setting on max to feel any benefit- I thought that was something I would have to work up to. I'm 50 and I've not actually ridden on a bike for the last 30 years so I expected dead legs that wouldn't carry me up stairs after the first few uses. Instead I had a "good" ache in the muscles but nothing dramatic. If you are a cyclist already you might well want to look for something that offers a higher resistance challenge.I found that the heart rate monitor worked well to begin with but not so well lately. I have a theory that the sensor contacts on the handlebars need your hands to be warm and possibly slightly damp to work - wasn't a problem when I was first using the bike in hot weather. Now it is a bit colder I found that the sensor often doesn't work until I've nearly finished my session. The solution that I have found is to exhale a warm breath on the handle sensors at the start.Overall I'm very pleased with the bike - the plastic "computer" couldn't look any cheaper and the slightly dodgy heart rate sensor are annoying - but it does the trick.
