Signalis - Dark Sci-Fi Masterpiece.
What do you get if you mix SIlent Hill, Resident Evil, Evangelion, with a sprinkle of Tsutomu Nihei? Well, apparently you get a nostalgic survival horror masterpiece, do you know how long i've been longing for that original Silent Hill trilogy vibe? it feels like it's been forever, well.. because it has, in a game industry bloated with 'games as a service', comes a rare treat not like many others which tries to capture that nostalgia, i love this game. But enough praising, let's get into some more factual bits, i played for about 10-ish hours, playing very carefully and saving often, which earned me the 'Memory' ending, a pretty common ending to get, and one that is required if you want to get if you want to understand the others. Which brings me unto the story, which is sorta confusing, but not really, i have a general feel for what it's about, though i'm not spoiling it.The general tone, be it the music or the actual level design is phenomenal and is where i got the Tsutomu Nihei and Evangelion feeling, the gunplay resembles classic Resident Evil but with more modern quality of life additions, but the general tone reminds me a lot of the original Silent Hill trilogy (especially that of 2).The game features really interesting and complex puzzles, some of which i had to make physical notes with pen and paper to actually complete, which brought me back to my childhood - in a very positive way!Overall this was a game well worth playing through, if you miss classic survival horror then you should pick this up ASAP, a genuine indie masterpiece.A very easy score of 5/5Side-Note, my copy also did not contain the lenticular photograph, sadly this appears to have been a limited item, though i'm still happy to own this game physically for preservation purposes.Edit (Optional information): I omitted this originally, but the four inspirations mentioned in the first sentence is far from the only ones these devs have, so pay attention during gameplay and see if you can catch all the pop culture references they've crammed in.Also this game is less modern horror, I.E: Throw a bunch of jump scares at the player, scripted chase sequences, etc, etc, etc, and more slow and atmospheric, it doesn't startle you as much as it makes you extremely uncomfortable or creeped out, basically if you don't like games that startle you, then this could be a good horror game entry for you.

⚠️DOES NOT COME WITH POLAROID⚠️
So, first off this game is a masterpiece and if you can play it, you should because it is one of the best video games I’ve ever played. BUT, this has nothing to do with the game. If you are buying this for the Polaroid, like myself. DONT!! They only came in the first editions which are no longer being made and delivered. Sadly, if you want to get a first edition they are extremely expensive. So if you’re buying this for the polaroid, you’re not going to get it in this.

I have not enjoyed a game so much in a long time.
Signalis is a beautiful, original, fun, and genuinely fear inducing game. I’m at that middle aged time of life where I thought games just weren’t for me anymore. I was not feeling that magic like I used to. Signalis sucked me right in. I played this game from start to finish completely immersed.

SO Worth Buying!
I actually owned this game first for the PC, a friend gifted it to me. I got hooked immediately! If your a fan of the old school survival horror (games like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, EternalDarkness, ect.) You will love this game. It feels like Metal gear solid had babies with Resident Evil then cheated on Metal Gear with Silent Hill. The controls are wondering. Me being a mouse and keyboard advocate I can confidently say I prefer the controller with this game. The inventory system is amazing. You get 6 slots. There's no upgrading in the game you can only ever hold up to 6 items. There is a Storage chest in each save room and they do all link together. If your familiar with Resident Evil this won't be a surprise for you. I don't want to spoil anything but there is a feature in the game that's very similar to what Resident Evil HD: Remake did. I'm glad I purchased this product for my Switch. I can take it on the go or enjoy at home docked. For the price it is definitely worth it.By the way if you end up a fan on this game or this games genre type, check out a game called Tormented Souls which is also available for PC/Switch and most likely all current consoles.

Sci-fi resident evil
A nice sci-fi resident evil type game down to the tank like controls. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating was that I didn't get many of the puzzles. They didn't make sense to me. Often when I get to a point in these types of games that I can't figure out a puzzle and I had to just give up and check the internet, I could back trace where I missed something. This game gave me no sense of that. After I look up an answer to a puzzle In this game, I feel like there was no way to figure out some of these puzzles without looking it up. There seem to be a lack of explanation.

don't sleep on this game
if you love old school silent hill you will love this. its dark depressing and gets darker as time goes one.puzzles are hard and will take time and thought to solve but none are moon stlye puzzles, you have the answeres. its just they might have been given a puzzle answer ten hours in, in yur first hour of play. so reread files often. i love radio system who objects in the world will respond to what you are playing. it makes this feel more like real world.problems, well i dont like the inventory system it never expands and makes back tracking constant thing. other complaint is enemy respawning. every enemy you kill will be put on timer and get back up endlessly like in the resident evil remake. if you know what your doinnng not big thing but first run towards the end even every corrider and room has three or more. then things get little unfair.in the end i loved this game and looking forward to another run with it
