"Pop!" helps homework time "Pop!"
My six year old daughter really enjoys this game very much! She has been struggling with the reading process. Although my older two daughters never struggled with reading and never used flashcards, my youngest does struggle with reading, and flashcards are a godsend! This Pop game is a fun way to mix it up! I actually don't remember what the rules of the game are, but we make up our own rules according to her attention span of the moment. Currently, we"race" to see who can draw and pronounce 20 words without drawing the "Pop" card. First, she reads her word out loud, and then I intentionally sound out the word that I draw. Whoever reaches 20 words first must next reread each word she drew, plus read the other person's words (because now she can!). If we play again, we leave those words out, and play with the remaining words, so she gets practice with new words. I think we started with having to read 5 words. The game is very flexible in that way. (At the same time, we are working with sight word flashcards--the first 100 words--which are very similar words. The second Pop Game goes basically with the next 100 word flashcards.) And of course, it is fun to EAT popcorn while playing the game! We play Pop once every week or every couple of weeks or so, and it helps her see how she is progressing. I leave the game out for her to see, and pick up upon occasion. For me, it breaks up the monotony, and helps ME to see the progress that is happening!!!! This is one of the games her school keeps in Kindergarten for snowy recess days!

Great Bundle
My five-year-old is starting sight words and these games are perfect for practice. I value the bundle so that we can continue the game as he learns more words. If you have played "I Sea 10" (also by Learning Resources), this game is similar. Pour out all the popcorn cards and place them picture facing up. Take turns flipping over a card and the first person who can read the card keeps it. If you flip over a "POP" card, you have to give back all your collected cards. Since we are just now beginning sight words memorization, I alter the game by letting him only guess during his turn. I encourage him to spell out the word and/or sound it out (as much as possible since they are 'sight' words). If he can't then we turn it back over. When it's my turn I do let him say my card if he does know the word, if not I go through the same process walking him through my explanation of guessing the word. Overall, another great game to make education fun from Learning Resources.

Fun and easy to play!
Me and my ten year old have fun testing out the original POP. We enjoyed it. The words were easy for him but it was a fun game. I will use it in my dyslexia interventions.

Most requested classroom game
I have purchased every version of POP made because kids LOVE this game! The sight word versions are a fun way to teach and reinforce reading skills. Kids love the excitement of gaining the "kernels" and the excitement of not pulling a POP card, causing them to put them all back. This is a fun, exciting educational game for home and school use. Highly recommend!

Kids will love this sight word game.
These Popcorn words are a fun way to engage students to read individual words. The kids think it is a game. I put the words on the ground and as they pick them up and read them, they to toss them into the popcorn box. Student with the most words wins the game.

Good learning game
This game was a Christmas gift for my 5 year old grandtwins. We just played it for the 1st time. It held their interest and in no time they were sounding out and learning unfamiliar words and learning how to spell also. The pieces could be a little heavier as after much handling they will get worn. The game is a very good learning tool for beginning reader level and the twins, boy and girl are enjoying the game. It is making it fun for them and at the same time learning how to read. I would recommend the game.

Game-changer for my six year old
As a parent of a six-year-old who struggles with maintaining focus during learning activities, I can't express how thrilled I am with this game. It has been a complete game-changer for us and has made the process of learning sight words not only effective but also incredibly fun for my child. I will be gifting this to all my friends with young children.

Sneaky fun learning!
Awesome game to add to family night or just to do because. Kids don't realize they are learning while collecting those kernals. So many sight words to review and learn this is a great way to build confidence and reading skills.
