Best NAS/homelab case for price.
I got this as part of a project I had of replacing my existing old Synology NAS and instead building my own and running Unraid. This case supports huge flexibility in its configuration options and that was a major reason I chose it. Its big enough that building in it isn't a hassle and it leaves me the option of using it as more than just a NAS, something the more compact NAS cases struggled to offer. Despite it being a bit larger than other cases i think overall it hits a sweet spot of being small enough that its not a struggle to fit it somewhere and big enough that you can do pretty much anything with it. Airflow is good and it comes with three fans that seems to do a good enough job to get you started. I had planned on replacing all its fans with Noctua ones to make it as quiet as possible but the ones it comes are good enough that I’m in no rush. It looks good, maybe not as modern as a Jonsbo case but its definitely not worth spending double the amount on a case just because it looks a little more sleek. Its build quality seems good and its documentation is some of the better ive seen come with a PC case.

Awesome little cube case!!!
Being a little OCD about my computer equipment it took me some time to arrive at a decision on a M-ATX case. Having had an Antec Mini-P180 for a good few years I was looking to move to a case that could sit on my desk without looking too much like a microwave cooker! Step up the Node 804. I looked at the Corsair Air 240; a nice case but with very limited HDD storage space and VERY limited GPU fitment sizes. As I was going for a non-standard cooler on my GTX 980 I needed something that could take the additional height of the GPU. The Node 804 swallowed all of my kit easily. I'm running 4 HDDs and an SSD along with a decent sized PSU..... all tucked out of sight in one chamber. The motherboard is fitted in the other along with a H105 cooler and a total of five 120mm fans.... two fitted as intakes on the front, one exhaust on the rear and two exhausting through the case roof via the H105. My GPU temps are five degrees lower than my mini-p180 and, with the H105 fitted the case is very quiet. I have also fitted a slot loading optical drive in the case front. All in all this is a great little case that can house a large amount of high end kit, keep it cool and also VERY tidy.... and with a window on the case side it makes for a space that is easy to build a great looking system into. Highly recommended!!!!!

Lovely case, only negatives are the age.
I think this is a 10 year old case now, but I converted my old gaming rig into a NAS & decided to use this case for it and oh boy, what a lovely looking piece of kit. It's a double wide case so its a chunky boy, but probably less than half the height of your typical tower and the number of hard drives and fans this thing can fit is actually hard to understand. The cable management holes etc are also very good, even by todays standards & much to my surprise the stealthy slot for a CD/DVD/Bluray drive in the front side of the case is actually a nice touch for someone whose setting up there own home media centre.the only negatives i'd say would be front IO could do with some USB-C, maybe an SD Card slot etc but all in all, lovely case.

Cool, Quiet, No Drama
Really liking the Fractal Node 804 so far—drives are solid, temps dropped 10°C, and plenty of space. Do what you want with that info.

We Whole-heartedly recommend this case!
The Fractal Design Node 804 - Black - is a true marvel of engineering and design. As soon as I laid eyes on this sleek and sophisticated chassis, I knew I had to have it. The moment I unboxed it, I was struck by the sheer quality of the materials used and the impeccable attention to detail, like discovering a perfectly configured RAID array. The all-black exterior exudes a sense of understated elegance, perfectly complementing any modern workspace or gaming setup, like a sysadmin in a crisp black polo shirt. The brushed aluminium front panel is a true work of art, seamlessly blending form and function, just like a well-crafted Bash script. The subtle Fractal Design logo adorning the front adds a touch of refinement that sets this case apart from the competition. But the real beauty of the Node 804 lies in its exceptional versatility. This compact powerhouse is capable of housing a full-sized ATX motherboard, giving you the flexibility to build a high-performance system without sacrificing valuable desk space, like a sysadmin fitting an entire server rack into a closet. The dual-chamber design is a stroke of genius, allowing for superior cable management and optimal airflow, ensuring your components stay cool and your system runs like a well-oiled machine, just like a meticulously organized server room (Hey it is organized in it's own way!!).One of the standout features is its impressive storage capacity. With support for up to six 3.5-inch and two 2.5-inch drives (Officially!), you can easily accommodate all your data storage needs, whether you're a professional content creator or a dedicated gamer with a vast library of games, or a sysadmin with a penchant for hoarding backups. The attention to detail doesn't stop there. The removable dust filters on the front and bottom panels make maintaining the cleanliness of your system a breeze, and the tool-less design of the drive bays and expansion slots simplifies the installation process, even for novice builders, like a sysadmin swapping out a faulty hard drive with one hand while sipping coffee with the other.I must admit, I was slightly apprehensive about the compact nature of the Node 804 at first, but my concerns were quickly alleviated. The case offers ample space for even the most demanding components, with support for full-sized graphics cards and CPU coolers up to 165mm in height, like a sysadmin cramming a supercomputer into a shoebox. The only minor gripe I have with the Node 804 is the somewhat limited front panel connectivity, with only two USB 3.0 ports and a single audio jack. While this may not be a dealbreaker for everyone, it's something to consider if you require more extensive front-facing ports (Can't be just me, right?!)Overall, the Node 804 is an absolute gem. Its stunning design, exceptional build quality, and impressive versatility make it a must-have for anyone looking to build a high-performance system in a compact and visually appealing package, like a sysadmin who just discovered the perfect server enclosure. I wholeheartedly recommend this case to anyone in the market for a truly remarkable computer enclosure, or a sysadmin looking to impress their colleagues with their impeccable taste in hardware.Lengthy review just to say, We Whole-heartedly recommend this case! I can't recommend it enough.

Brilliant case and looks good.
If you need a mATX case with massive expansion options and good cable management routing.Airflow is excellent and using 140mm fans in addition to the supplied very quiet 120mm fans keeps flow rate high and noise level low.My only criticism is that the perspecx side panel feels very cheap and the clips securing it to the side panel are poor.It would be great if Fractal Design offered a premium option with a tempered glass panel instead but at this price the case is simply outstanding value for an otherwise fantastic quality unit. Just be careful handling it with the perspex side oanel on!
