Smooth handles. Hardened metal. Very precise needle-nose pliers. Overall great deal. If only other Chraftsman tools had smooth handles like this. This set is a real treasure find. I recommend, although the slip joint (expandable) pliers are a little too lose at the bolt to my liking--I don't think they stamped the bolt hard enough to make it tighter. No biggie though and you can always hammer them tighter.

Standard craftsman quality. A little on the expensive side but they work when you need them.

Very good quality tools like they feel like the old Craftsman tools but I know they are not but they are close. For the money you can't go wrong with these.
