Solid and does the job
Bought this to supplement an older, twin upright saw horse I bought from the same company. It’s served me well and I was looking to buy another one to make a longer saw horse as I now split logs up to a metre long and wanted a bigger saw horse to make it easier to cut the split staves to appropriate sizes. When looking I saw this one and seeing as it wasn’t that much more expensive, it was a no brainier. It doesn’t come with the wooden base, so doesn’t come in a predetermined size - perfect as I wanted to be able to cut logs to three specific sizes, 500mm, 275mm and 220mm.The instructions are very clear and it also came with two spade drill bits to cut the holes for the uprights and feet. The drill bits weren’t great, I used my forstner bits to finish off the holes I started - I’m sure they would have worked, but I prefer the forstner bits.Overall a great bit of kit at a reasonable price. Works really well along side my old one and I have no doubt it will last for years and years to come

Brilliant
I have seen these before and watched demonstrations on utube , after much wasted time “ umming “ and “ ahhing” I went ahead and ordered one. So glad I did. Yes I know you have to supply a length of timber yourself, but come on, surely you don’t expect to get that as well for the money plus free postage. It was quick and easy to assemble, the wood boring bits supplied did the job ok ( yes , you get those as well ) and had no problem drilling into a piece of oak. I worked out the spacing for my woodburner using a pre cut log, simple. The feet make the unit nice and sturdy and the chains hold the logs secure so that the lumber can’t jump about helping to eliminate the dreaded kickbacks from the saw. This unit does hold a surprising amount of wood, and the way I have it set up requires 3 downward cuts with the saw, which takes minutes, resulting in 3-4 wheelbarrows of logs.Quick, safe and easy, cutting logs that once was a bit of a chore, is now a task I look forward to, so don’t ummm and ahhh, buy one, and make your life simpler.

Excellent kit for woodland work.
Arrived really quickly after ordering. The enclosed instructions were simple and the stand was easy to put together. Having the required drill bits included as part of the package is a good idea. I liked the fact that you get to determine the log lengths most suitable for your fire/woodburner by using your own timber base to fit the metal cradles and stand to. I managed to obtain a 5' long 4" x 4" oak post for the stand for £10.00 from a local sawmill. I used oak, but a treatedsoftwood post would work just as well.Check that the holes you drill in the post for the cradles are true to ensure they line up neatly when inserted. In use, it was fast and simple to work with. Using a 14" chainsaw meant I could cut from just one side, but a 10" or 12" would be fine, just cut from one side then the other.I processed a massive pile of cordwood in a morning and filled my log store.Because of the rate of work it enables, if you don't want a big sawdust cleaning up job afterwards, I'd suggest a cheap tarpaulin underneath to catch it all in.Only small issue was that one of the loops was missing from the one of the two securing chains. However, I e mailed Arrows and a replacement set arrived the very next day. Very impressed with Arrow's excellent customer service and did not detract from my satisfaction with my purchase. All in all, the stand is great value for money - it does exactly what I need it to do and I'm very happy with it.

A really good bit of kit that will get a lot of use.
This bit of kit has exceeded my expectations and has allowed me to clear up loads of wood and produce literally a shed load of firewood in a fraction of the time it would have taken. It is really easy to use and, to me, has been worth every penny.I overlooked the bit that said the wooden part is not supplied so if purchasing make sure you have a length of minimum 4" by 4" to hand, otherwise you won't be able to assemble it. It would be easier if you have a bench mounted drill to get the holes straight but I didn't have one, didn't get the holes straight and it has not made any difference to its use. Just looks like I have put it together rather than someone who is good at this DIY stuff. You decide yourself how far apart to space the holes for the posts and this determines the size of the resulting logs so think carefully before you start to drill.I was a bit worried that it would not be stable when loaded but it is.It holds any size of wood quite securely. I have been cutting a mix of 1/4 inch up to 3 inch hedging offcuts and was worried that the chain arrangement would not hold the random shapes - but it does.I have only used it for a few days but given the time it has already saved me I think it has already paid for itself. I cannot praise it high enough.

Does the job, can cut piles of logs fast. Customisable, easy to store goes flat against a wall.
Good for any wood 2-5 inches in diameter. I advise use a good dry hard wood (as heavy as possible) when you drill holes for the poles, pine will do but will eventually wiggle loose. You can make the forks however far apart you like i have mine foot apart for food long logs. Does the job, i make a pile of around 2 barrows full of cut wood in under 10 minutes. Build quality is as good as it can be. Would be good if they made one with wider fork's to accommodate more logs or larger logs.
