Much better WiFi performance than my very expensive router!
I've had this item for 9 months and use it almost every day.Pros:-It's easy to set up and relatively small.-It works well when it's in range of the base wifi stationCons:-It needs to be set up very near your base WiFi station. I have mine about 5 metres from my base WiFi station and it sometimes struggles to get a good signal. If it doesn't have a good signal (like in a hotel, on a campsite, etc) it will keep cutting out and restarting itself. It doesn't do this if the signal to the base station is good.-It is not very configurable. I'm a network admin, and there aren't many settings here for power users. They've made a lot of effort to make this thing easily configurable for general users, but the advanced options are very sparse. The antennas aren't interchangeable, and seem a bit flimsy. This isn't a problem if it's always plugged into the wall, but I don't feel comfortable taking it with me when I travel, because I don't think the antennas would survive a journey in my bag. Conclusion:I wouldn't buy this item again, as it isn't quite fit for purpose. I was hoping that due to the external antennas that it'd have much better WiFi reception than my phone and tablet devices, but actually it doesn't manage very well. For use in a house, it will work well as long as it's quite near to your router. If you want to use this in a hotel or on a campsite to boost the wifi signal, you will be left disappointed.Update:I've given this device a new lease of life as an access point, connected to the internet via an ethernet connection, and have been blown away by the results. As mentioned in my previous review (above), the performance when you extend a WiFi network is very poor, but this device really shines when you use this thing as a standalone access point. The coverage and connection speed is very impressive. I get better results with it than I did with my router. I've now switched the WiFi off on my router, and use it as a fancy modem, and this little device is my new wifi access point.I'm increasing my rating to 5 stars. If you're going to extend a WiFi network, you should really cable in your other access points, rather than try to use a Wireless connection to the base station. You will only ever give yourself problems with performance if you do, and end up with a fragile network. This is a fundamental problem with WiFi, and therefore not the fault of the device. The device itself performs incredibly well, especially when you consider how cheap it is, and how many years I've been using it.

Good value
We have had this item for 4 and a half months now, so it's a good time to review it. It was pretty easy to set up but it took some time to work out where to site it in the house. We also found that it depends on whether you have the internal doors open or closed. Sometimes it is working even though the red lights are on so I don't think they are entirely accurate. It does boost the signal and means I can work in the far end of the house, so it does what it needs to do and it is fairly reliable. Signal drops from time to time but not so bad that it interrupts work. For the price, it was a good purchase.

Easy to install, barley any issues and Excellent signal.
Bought this product after my original version made by a different company broke on me after about 3 years. I wanted to give this some time before leaving a review to make sure its had time to cause me issues and I could leave a proper review on this product.Pros first:Excellent signal boost. As someone who games on a PC and doesn't have great internet as it is, this device helped me a ton. I will use Counter Strike Global Offensive as an example as it has an easy to use ping counter. Without this product I have a terrible ping of 200 to 450 often just crashing my game. With the use of this device I have received a ping of usually 30-45 with maybe boost of up to 60 max if things are becoming hectic. This is a massive increase in quality and provides for a great gaming experience rather than running into brick walls.Easy to install. Unlike my previous device this was very easy to set up. On my previous device it took me roughly 2 hours to finally hook up and get fully working. With this device however I got it up and running within 10 minutes no joke. The booklet was very clear and precise and does not fill your head with tech jargin that you do not need to know. It is as simple as basically plugging the device in, clicking the WPS button and syncing it to the WPS button on your WIFI Box.Speed Boost on Downloads. Now this is basically a secondary part to my first compliment about the device. These devices do not "boost" your download speed but simply give you the full benefits of what you are supposed to get from your current provider plan. So if you want faster download speeds in general apart from the odd trick you really just have to upgrade your service plan. However if you have noticed you are not getting the correct download speeds you are supposed to then this is an excellent device to help. I am on a very low plan so my download speed is rather pathetic with the most I get being about 5-6 mb per second. But without this device the most I achieved before was 2 to 3 mb per second. After installing this I always receive the correct 5-6 with the odd speed up to 7 at times unless I am running many programs or streaming many things in the background which will slow it down anyway.Cons:It Gets Hot. The device is small and compared to my last device it gets hot over time much faster. Its not scolding hot but it is something to keep in mind and I turn mine off when not using it for instance if I am at work then I am not home to use the device so why bother keeping it on right? when I return home its had time to cool down and that usually lasts a good amount of time (usually a week or so) before it heats up again.Lost Connection. This happens rarely but is a con I will bring up to be clear on this. This has happened to me 2 or 3 times where I have had to turn off the system and wait about 10 minutes before it boots back to normal and starts working again. I have wondered if this is possibly due to the overheating but can not confirm. as mentioned I have owned this for some time now and its really not bothered me at all so ignore this complaint for the most part but wanted to state it for clarity.Sum it up:affordable, barley any cons, fast to install, great WIFI coverage, small and not poorly shaped and noticeable increase of speed in downloads. Worth every penny!
