Lovely elegant electronic grinders, which look expensive and work well - but need a LOT of batteries which are NOT included!
I have chosen to use these for six weeks before writing a review as I have never found manual salt and pepper grinders which have consistently worked reliably. This is my first experience of Savisto products and these are beautiful: they look elegant and expensive (though they are not) and are a pleasure to use - no laborious twisting and watching the salt or pepper clog and nothing come out. Here you just lightly press the button. And thus far I have found these grinders to be fully efficient. The two grinders are identical: one I filled with standard fresh black peppercorns BLACK PEPPER CORN / WHOLE BLACK PEPPER CORN COOKING ASIAN HERBS AND SPICES 100g , the other with coarse grade Himalayan Sea Salt Homework Health Himalayan Pink Salt Coarse Grade Zero Additives Suitable For Cooking And Detoxification Comes In Re Sealable Stand Up Pouch 500g , which I have not used before.Note that you will need EIGHT AA batteries as you have to insert four in each grinder for them to work (this does actually make a sizeable difference to the cost of the units as batteries are NOT included). There is a particularly stylish touch: when you use the grinders a light shines from the base of the units. Some reviewers say that the lights don't work. This is generally because they have not correctly aligned the contacts after filling the grinders: there are no instructions but it's straightforward to do and a simple matter to reassemble the grinders correctly if you are aware of this. You can also easily adjust the units for the coarseness of salt or pepper you prefer. In short, I am extremely pleased with these silver-colour illuminated electronic stainless steel grinders, to the extent that I am now planning to buy two sets of the marginally more expensive metallic red model - one as a Christmas present and one for myself, to use with spices. They will make a nice present (once I've added the eight AA batteries and packets of Himalayan salt and fresh black peppercorns!)

Good looking with a great grind, but a pain to get apart!
Overall for the cost I do think that these mills are good value for money, although it appears mine broke within minutes of handling them.I'm not sure if it was just the pair I recieved - but whilst I had no issues removing the metal sleeve off the mills to expose the battery compartment, getting the motor unit of the storage container was ridiculously hard. To the point that when I eventually pulled it off the plastic clip on one side broke. Knowing this I was really careful with the other mill, but again the two parts were so difficult to pull apart it appeared I was missing some instructions or something, and when the two parts came apart again another clip was broken. However after putting in the batteries and testing I can confirm the broken clip on each one appears not to hinder the function in anyway so have not returned, although it wasn't a great first experience. The mills look elegant and the grind is much better then the previous mills they replace so overall I am happy, let's hope they last...If it's been helpful please hit

Mills look and work great and the illumination is really useful
I've only had these for a week, so durability and battery life are unknown. The plastic catches seem a bit lightweight, but they were really easy to take apart to insert batteries, fairly easy to fill with salt and pepper and straightforward to assemble again, especially after one of them had been rotated to allow the light to work, just as the instructions show. One of the mills arrived with a slight manufacturing blemish and contacting Savisto should have been more reliable, but they replaced the problem part with no quibble. Registering the 2yrs warranty online was also technically unsuccessful, but this might have been due to browser add-ons I have in place and Savisto immediately handled this manually on request. They seem like nice and helpful people, though perhaps with a degree of happy disorganisation. I will try to remember to update this review re battery life and durability at a later date when I have experience of these. The mills look great and produce nicely ground pepprer and salt at the factory settings, though these can apparently be adjusted. Assuming they last a reasonable time, and I bear in mind the extended warranty, they are excellent value.

OH DEAR!!!!!!!
I ordered Stainless steel finish. The barcode on the box said stainless although the box said red in colour as were the grinders. I could have lived with the wrong colour but after fitting brand new batteries neither grinder motor nor light would operate on either unit. The box flap had the appearance of being tampered with before I got it which did set of alarm bells as possibly having been returned previously. Rather disappointing and could not really award even one star but that does not seem an option. NOT a happy bunny!!!! First impressions were actually good but as much good as a chocolate teapot if they don't work!!! Initially 1 star.UPDATE:- After contacting Savisto they were extremely helpful and I now have a set of working grinders which I am very pleased with.so I am now a happy bunny!! The company always replied promptly and could not have been more helpful. Result, now up to 4 stars. BTW the grinders look identical to some other more expensive grinders so i would go for these rather than the same thing with a different name.
