Excellent product for the price
So, I bought this product to install on my motorcycle. I have been the recipient of a crash on a bike due to a tire issue, and I wanted to do everything I could to prevent a reoccurrence.I like the idea of having two “spare” sensors for use, if one fails. It arrived on-time and well-packaged. Everything that you need for installation is included. The adhesive double-side tape is adequate. However, if you do not wish to leave “sticky” on your dash, or preferred mounting platform, you may want to consider a different option. Actually, you could place the receiver in the “glove box” or center console. The audible alert is loud enough to get your attention if there is a problem.I found that the sensor was accurate for me to within 1/2lb to 1lb psi. That is pretty respectable for $40.The heat sensor also seems to be accurate, but note that it appears to update the heat information about once every five minutes. That’s totally acceptable in my opinion. There are only two areas that I can see room for improvement at this time.First, the installation directions in my opinion can stand some clarity. It took about 10-15 minutes for me to understand how to install the sensors. Perhaps it was just me, but I will ellaborate, as it may save someone else some frustration.SENSOR INSTALLATION: before screwing the sensor to the valve stem, make sure that you thread a locking “nut” to the stem FIRST. You will use this (wrench included” to reverse the nut against the sensor to lock it in place. The nuts are included in the package. BEFORE you screw the sensor in place, you must “lift” the dust cover from the bottom of the sensor. Do not attempt to unscrew the dust cover. It won’t work, and you may start cursing when you break your fingernail. Simply use a small flat-head or like device to lift the dust cover from its cradle. It will come free with little effort. You will find that there is a small plastic “clip” in a recessed area. This is the part that you will apply upward pressure to remove the dust cover.I found that there was NO PAIRING NECESSARY right out of the box. As soon as I screwed the sensor in place, it began transmitting to the receiver. Also note that if you do buy this product for a motorcycle, or any vehicle with less than four wheels, the display area showing the information for the sensor(s) that is/are not installed will blink constantly. This is one of the things that I believe can be improved in the software. A way to turn off the blinking display of any sensors that are not in use. However, all things considered, this is a minor inconvenience.Make sure that you get the sensor finger-tight, don’t try to torque it down. You don’t want to damage the valve stem, and the sensor hardware is likely fragile internally speaking. Equally important is to ensure that the locking nut is properly snug. This will prevent excess movement that would damage the sensor, as well as help it stay where it should. While screwing the sensor/nut in place, it is a good idea to hold the stem so that no damage occurs to the shaft portion of the valve stem.NOTE: when setting the psi tolerances, understand that when you drive your vehicle, tire pressures will naturally increase several pounds. The warmer the ambient/road temp, the more prevalent this is. So, take your car for a good drive and see how much your psi typically increases. Adjust your tolerances accordingly so that your alarm does not sound needlessly. More important is the low pressure alarm. Conversely, the colder the ambient temp is, the lower your psi will be before driving. Example: I run 41psi on my bike. If it sits for 24 hours in 40 degree weather, I will typically see a beginning psi of 38. That is perfectly normal. All in all, thus far I am very impressed. It is not often that you get a product that performs just as well as its more expensive counterparts. From packaging to appearance, I love it.Despite the seeming lack of clarity in portions of the instructions, I give it 5 stars. An intelligent individual can fill in the blanks. If you are not an intelligent individual, make friends with one :).Hope this review helps,JamesLouisiana, USA

Revised my review - problematic
UPDATE: previously I gave these units 5 stars. I’m changing that to 1 star because over time the units have proven that they will not save your settings. If you change them from metric (bar and Celsius) to PSI and Fahrenheit, they won’t stay that way once the unit goes to sleep. Also cold temperatures (below freezing) seem to cause these units to stop working.########I have purchased two of these. I love them!Take my advice and also order yourself at least one 4-pack of Energizer ECR1632 (CR1632) batteries. You’ll need them over time I promise!DO NOT DISCARD the weird black plastic 6-pointed-star shaped things (see my photos) in the box!! Those are actually tools to disassemble the wheel sensor so you can change the battery. It would be very difficult to do without them! I wouldn’t discard the wrench either. The first unit I bought worked out of the box no problem. There is a sensor that you screw onto the tire’s inflation valve for each wheel. I can see all four of my tire pressures at once, as well as the temperature of the air inside the tire. The second unit I bought seemed broken right out of the box - only three of the four tires appeared on the display. The unit was NOT broken. Each wheel sensor has a battery inside it and the wheel that wasn’t appearing simply had a dead battery. That’s what you’ll need the CR1632 batteries for.If you have a tire displaying the wrong PSI or not appearing on the display, CHANGE THE BATTERY on that sensor!Who knows how long it was sitting on the shelf in a warehouse. I am not going to dock a star for that, it’s not a design or manufacturing issue.By default the temperatures display in Celsius and the air pressures display in Bar. I changed mine in the settings to Fahrenheit and PSI. It’s easy to do, there are only three buttons on the display unit. The instructions are typical made-in-China terrible translations that don’t make sense but you’ll figure it out. When you are in the settings you can configure your threshold for an alarm - i.e. if pressure / temperature for a tire becomes too low or too high, the unit will start beeping. This is a handy setting if you are the kind of person who doesn’t check it ever but wants to be notified if pressure is too low. I found that for my 4Runner and Sequoia the factory tolerances were way too low and too sensitive. As you drive, tires heat up a lot, causing the air inside to also heat up. When air heats up, it expands. This causes the air pressure to INCREASE inside the tire, so you’ll want to allow a little leeway for the tire pressure to go up a few PSI when you are driving otherwise the unit will be beeping at you all the time. There are some nuts also that you can put on the tire stem before you put the sensor on. Then you can use the wrench to tighten the nut against the sensor which really secures it and keeps it from loosening and coming off. But if you choose to do this, make sure you keep the little wrench handy because they really are hard to remove without it.I put the tools and extra batteries with the instructions in a ziplock in the glove compartment. That works for me.CHANGING SETTINGS (in ACTUAL ENGLISH! LOL)1) ENTER SETTINGS - hold down the MIDDLE button for like 8 seconds until the unit beeps and the screen changes2) PRESSURE - use the LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select PSI or Bar as your unit of measure for tire site pressure. Press the MIDDLE button to set it.3) TEMPERATURE - use the LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select F or C for temp and MIDDLE button to set it.4) HIGH PRESSURE THRESHOLD “PU” - use LEFT/RIGHT buttons to set your high point threshold for air pressure. If your tire pressure gets ABOVE this number, the unit will start beeping at you. Press the MIDDLE button to set it.5) LOW PRESSURE THRESHOLD “Pd” - use the LEFT/RIGHT buttons to set the low pressure number. When your air pressure gets below this number the unit will beep at you. Press the MIDDLE button to set it.6) TEMPERATURE THRESHOLD “tP” - use the LEFT/RIGHT buttons to set the temperature warning number. If your tire temperature gets to this number the unit will alarm. Press the MIDDLE button to set it.7) EXITING SETTINGS - wait like 30 seconds and it will exit on its own or hold down the MIDDLE button for 3 seconds.
