I purchased this air purifier in November 2022 and it has worked flawlessly. The support for Thread was a key decision maker, as it ensures current and future compatibility across smart home systems. There’s no app to install and it “just works.” Personally, I use HomeKit devices, so the Airversa purifier was setup through the native Apple Home app. It allows me to power on/off the device, adjust fan speed, and shows air quality and temperature within the Home app or by asking Siri. It’s truly a seamless experience and how smart home devices should be — quick setup, no separate app, and never needs to be set up or paired again (even if moved or disconnected from power). The automatic fan speed is also great, as it will detect pollutants and increase the filtration speed, but is still relatively quiet (the noise it does produce on higher speeds is akin to “white noise” and quite soothing). I placed it near a balcony door that I often open in the spring, so when it detects pollen, it will ramp up the speed. This has caused a noticeable reduction of pollen inside my home during those spring months. Additionally, the replacement filters are readily available and comparatively inexpensive to other air purifier brands.

I purchased the Airversa HomeKit Air Purifier upon recommendation by one of the Smart Home YouTubers. So far, his recommendation was spot on. It was an easy setup in my home office, and the connection to HomeKit was very easy. The AP2 is a HomeKit thread device, so you should have at least one Thread router device. I have HomePod Minis and an AppleTV 4k, so the connection to the HomeKit Thread network is excellent.The AP2 is quiet and unobtrusive while I work. The onboard controls are easy to access, use, and understand. Documentation is complete and easy to follow. A PDF version of the instructions is available to download.The AP2 is controllable from the onboard controls, a downloadable app for your iOS device, and rudimentary controls via Apple Home. The on/off control and air quality sensor are available via HomeKit, and they can be used in your home automation scenes.There are two filters in the device, and it was clear in the instructions that they are not reusable. I've looked on the Airversa website and they do seem to have readily available filters for purchase. Keep this in mind as you consider the overall cost of the device over time.If you are a HomeKit user and looking for an easily installed and controlled air filter for your smart home setup, the AP2 is highly recommended.

With Thread support and Apple HomeKit compatibility, this air purifier is a no-brainer for an Apple-centric home. Almost all features are exposed to HomeKit and automations/Siri Shortcuts. Air Quality sensor seems to work extremely well. It’s stylish and moves a lot of air for its size. The manufacturer app is mostly only needed for firmware updates, but is also lightweight, well designed, and useful. You can even skip signing up for an account. Only thing that could possibly be improved is adding Matter support, and that seems likely in the future.
