KB Riley 1020 Karen Burniston Dies-Christmas Tree Pop-Up

This die cuts better than any other die that I own. I've used it on #60 and #65 regular cardstock. It cut cleanly with one pass. In my Cuttlebug the sandwich was A-C-paper-die-B. The included instructions are satisfactory, but I relied on her Youtube video, which made the first time assembly a breeze. Another reviewer noted that the tabs are small and tore easily. The tabs ARE small but I did not tear or break any during the assembly of 4 cards. I was a little worried about tearing while seating my fist tab/notch but it worked out fine and gave me the confidence to easily complete the remaining ones. I'd suggest new users of the die make a practice tree from scrap cardstock just to get a feel for this step. The mechanism closes and opens easily. It cost a bit more than my other dies but I more than see the value in how well it cuts and the WOW factor it delivers. My bottom line is that this looks stunning and is quick/easy enough that I will be using it for all 63 of my Christmas cards this year. (Already planning to buy more of her pop up dies.)

I had seen Burniston dies in the past but was afraid to try one as they looked difficult. When I saw this tree, I couldn’t resist trying this one. The die was easy to use and cut well. Attaching the tree into the base was challenging and took a lot of patience. I recommend you use quality paper and watching the video helped.

The media could not be loaded. I used these dies for this years Christmas cards. They all came out so cute. There are ZERO instructions that come with this, so it’s important to watch Karen Burniston YouTube video on how to assemble this. It’s very easy, once you’ve watched the video. I highly recommend this set and look forward to trying her other dies.

These dies cut easily on the first pass without shims in my Big Shot. The instructions are O.K. but if you watch the corresponding video, easy peasy. Folding mechanism works well and the pop up stays in the standing position.

This makes the cutest christmas cards and scrapbook pages. Some reviewers said the tree was difficult to put together, and it can be, unless you practice. I had no torn pieces and it only took one practice tree to figure out the best way for me to construct this die. I am very glad I bought it and I would highly recommend this die.Besides that, it's just plain fun.

Ordinary Cardstock does not support opening and closing of the finished card, the tabs are very small and break and tear easily. The die is well made and the design is great.
