Be more sharp
It sharp for a week then the Knife can’t cut though the hard stuff. And it super light, my kid was picking it and play with it.

Rust alert.
Good knife but a rust spot formed rather quickly. I take care of my knives and always wash/dry them immediately after use so this was a surprise.

Great knife, can't believe the quality for the price
The knife is great, sharp and well balanced. I love cooking and this knife is great. Chops and slices better than knives costing way more. I can't one con about this knife. Msg. Peterson

Assembled in China!
The product description leads you to believe it is made in Germany with German steel...the product I received was assembled in China through a company based in California...very misleading

UNBELIEVABLY LOW PRICE FOR A GREAT PROFESSIONAL-QUALITY CHEF’S KNIFE!
This knife is amazingly well-built (sturdy, well balanced and REALLY SHARP...right out of the beautiful gift-quality box!). I bought this for just $15...not sure if that was a special sale, but it would be a big bargain, at twice or even three times the price. It’s apparently a German company (at least all the materials that ca,e with it were in German). And the knife feels like one you’d get at a high-end or professional knife shop. The wood handle is so comfortable to hole, and the grain makes it beautiful to look at.I bought this as part of my plan to cook more from scratch....but even if you aren’t an aspiring chef, this Deik knife would make an EXCELLENT gift for anyone you know who does like cooking. My only regret is that Deik doesn’t seem to offer very many other models of knives (which I’d like to buy to have a full matching set of something that’s of this high quality. Maybe they sell ore models outside of Amazon. If you’re debating about this knife, just buy it (especially if it’s still around $15 — you won’t regret it).

it's SO good
Are you kidding me?The price on this knife was absurdly low. I got one, loved it, and bought two more for my friend. The metal is the perfect high-carbon stainless as far as I'm concerned. It came super-sharp out of the box, and has held its edge well. The edge is sharp all the way back--there's no dull part where it meets the bolster. The handle is a beautiful dark wood with a nice curve to it. It is perfectly balanced for me. It's heavy enough for cleaving winter squashes and turkey joints...yet sharp enough for onions and herbs. It's the perfect meeting point between Global and Wüsthof. It paid for itself and then some the first time I cooked a meal with it rather than going out.And yet I wash it and dry it and put it away and oil the handle as if it were an expensive knife. If the world falls apart, you would do well to have a few of these on hand.My only regret is that I can't find a 10" or 12" version.

Great general purpose knife with one flaw
I used this knife almost exclusively to prepare Thanksgiving dinner for approx. 45 people (had it drop shipped since we were flying in). It arrived in a nice presentation box, and was sufficiently sharp to use right out of the box. The fit and finish of the knife was of a quality which exceeds its price-point. It also retained it's edge after all the prep work and carving a 12 pound turkey and two 20 pound bone-in hams. The one drawback I found was that the handle has a downward sweep which, although aesthetically pleasing, meant that my knuckles frequently hit the cutting board. I was able to avoid this by moving the board to the edge of the counter, but would prefer a straight tang/handle.This review obviously can't address the long-term performance of this product, but there was nothing in my experience which would make me question its quality.

This is an excellent and incredible knife.
This is an excellent and incredible knife. When i received this knife, it is in perfect condition and feels good in my hand. The weight of this knife is just about right. Not too heavy to hold for a long time and not too light for cutting. The knife has gotten quite a lot of use every day. I have always wanted a really good knife, as I'm tired of thing's being hard to cut etc. The blade is unbelievably sharp which made it easy to strip down the entire chicken, large turkey leg, etc. In addition, the materials of the knife are top of the line – well balanced and easy to clean/maintain. I strongly suggest that if you are looking for a quality kitchen knife, this is the knife for you. I will replace all my knivew with the brand going forward.

very happy
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I am just a housewife who is looking for a decent kitchen knife and I honestly don’t care about high carbon steel or German 416. The only thing I know is this is a very elegant knife and nice balanced, not too heavy or too light. Totally exceed my expectations, plus the package is amazing. Check out the video I uploaded. My husband is cutting Costco beef. Super easy and fast!

You don’t always get what you pay for
This is, for the price, probably the best knife you could buy. I was definitely not expecting it to be anywhere near as nice as it is. Comes razor sharp and as long as you aren’t abusive does a good job of holding that edge. The handle is very comfortable and it is a nice weight. I bought a second one as a gift

Great Quality
The knife is very good quality for the price that it comes with. I have no problems slicing and dicing, the handle's angle takes a little getting used to at first but it has a strong grip. Overall 9/10.
